Office of Community Care needs a dedicated staff and stop being just a hobby that some overworked nurse has to do in their "spare" time.

This is a difficult time for our family, my father is a veteran and has health problems, my mother and I have been doing our best to accompany and help him with the hospital visits and treatment he needs, my family has been observing the care that is given to my father and we were disappointed with the decision of Dr Marybeth Durkin of sending my father home when he was in agonizing pain, I brought him back when he could not bare the pain anymore and this time he was admitted to stay there in the hospital and get the care he needed and tests were done, it was discovered the type of health problem he had, my family is very grateful to Doctor Jason Eltman and the emergency department staff, he displayed great communication with us and showed empathy. I personally think that if health care improves is because of people that have passion for their job, have heart of a human being like Doctor Jason Eltman.

Do everything you can to save this facility and its Emergency Department! It is the only VA facility in the country with such a high average review rate. My primary care and specialty visits have all been the most professional and thorough experiences in the decades of military service and life as a retiree. If you allow the ED to be turned into an urgent care, you will have allowed step one in the total shuttering of this facility at a time when veterans need it most. Anyone with any military experience will tell you as we saw it first hand at Offutt Air Force Base and many other facilities: 1. Turn ED into UC 2. See drop in patients 3. Close UC and specialty clinics 4. Close the entire facility and offload the patients to the local economy where ED visits can hit $10,000 a visit and a Dr. checkup can be hundreds.

Everyone is always very friendly and kind. My husband went in for a procedure and everyone was so nice and helpful.

Yes, if you qualify

Burlington, Rutland or White River Junction. I could be wrong, but I believe WRJ is the more comprehensive facility. They can also plug you into DHMC as part of the Community Care program, which is beneficial.

802-295-9363 is the main number, I am sure the switchboard can transfer you.
You would have to call admissions for that answer.
If for some reason they give you to the wring department you can also ask to be transferred to the Veterans Transportation Service.
Keith, your best bet is to go and see the VFW Service Officer. You can just walk right in and ask your questions.
I don't work there you would have to call them
