Yesterday afternoon at 4:45 I was headed South on Loomis and saw police lights behind me. Initially I assumed the car was going around me, then I realized I was being pulled over. I then also realized that I may have rolled through the previous stop sign. The police officer, a female, approached my car. I saw her name tag, but don't recall her name. She was simultaneously professional and polite. She advised me her body cam was on and that I had not come to a complete stop at the stop sign, advised me to please be more careful, and issued a verbal warning. She politely said she still needed to check my license and registration, which I provided. Most importantly, sitting next to me was my fourteen year old son and this, to my knowledge, is the only interaction he has ever had with the police. The police officer was a case study in respect and professionalism, and I was very glad she set that example for my boy.

Been a while since my last visit but they were very gentle when they handcuffed me and the back of their patrol cars are incredibly roomy. A/c was ice cold. Overall very professional. I will get arrested by them again for sure 👍

Unprofessional female police officer and who I thought was officers were desk admins. A vehicle hit me as I was driving in their district. The guy was trying to convince me not to make police report. Because I walked in after him the two females sitting at the desk allowed him to speak. Did not acknowledge me when I spoke said for me to basically shut up. I tried explaining that the guy ran into us and I had a witness. Of course, the other driver was told to tell his story and taken to the other side and then I was told to wait until being called. The other driver seemed off and I mentioned it and not one of them cared to check him. Reading someone else’s review affirms they too experienced what I did as of most recent. The reviewers being female. First, I was not being loud or rude to them - they were to me. It’s embarrassing to learn the female officer did not know how to look up my plates in the database because she was struggling and asked me whose car is it? Didn’t know the difference between regular plates and vanity (collegiate) plates. Said if I put a sticker on my plates? Then I had to provide a picture and still she looked confused. I gave one star only because the male officer that took my report was very patient and was impartial in the process. Even though he had to follow up later because the other driver’s plate info was missing on the online police report. Did I say the female police officer and desk admins were ending their shift? Also, my witness heard the desk admin say, ‘you all annoying me.’ I get it, it’s a major holiday and you don’t want to be here but doesn’t excuse rudeness. Excuse me as we are paying your salaries and that’s the beauty of living in America we have choices on our professions! Highly don’t recommend this station they stereotype me immediately because I’m a woman assuming I was at fault. Especially by the female desk admin and female police officer who thrive on being rude to us. They lacked empathy and basic customer service skills. It’s evident they struggled with even providing the basic human soft skills required within their their role.

I couldn’t say this to her face because I didn’t want to be arrested for disorderly conduct. I was given the run around about how to report an accident , even told that my insurance has to do the investigation not them ( this was at district ten when I called.) but now here at 12 i tried to report an accident . The desk admin said “were in 2018” rules change (I said I was in another Accident I was rear ended just in September 2017 and questioned a protocol ) She’s absolutely correct, we’re in 2018, so why do I have to see a live administrator to make a police report when I can just use a kiosk or tablet? Hopefully, we can Submit pictures online , cause we’re in 2018! We are becoming so advanced in society, technology wise that to do to simple tasks like make a report she shouldn’t be needed . With all the self check outs ,Uber eats ,door dashes , insta carts, I should’ve been able to get on an app and have her come to my house . This is 2018. Oh I was even asked by another officer how I got there with no vehicle . There’s a lyft and Uber app out there, it’s very affordable. Hopefully the police become more advanced and there is a site online like city of Chicago services that’s we can just report crimes, accidents on there. Also, hopefully the site will put up the rules and items needed to report an accident, cause I would’ve been more prepared. My other suggestion is an automated service where we just press numbers and options to reach a live person. Or maybe have what service I want transcribed to a live representative. (Just wait for the “millennials” to start rolling around into the police stations , she thought I was an idiot , wait for the kids of “I want now” they are not gonna up with this elitist attitude nor have the patience) And also, I guess we all need live videos on us at all times because she asked me how I can remember a license plate number ? And rolled her eyes that I didn’t have a picture of the car driving away from me that did a hit and run. Looks like I have to get a go pro on my head and dash cam on my car along with A very small person to read my thoughts outloud so she can have proof of everything I said or I should’ve been on Facebook live or snap chat at the time of my accident. My point is we’re in 2018 and she isn’t needed . Waste of tax dollars and salary because like she said we are in 2018 and we are more Advanced in Society. I have respect for officers and still continue to support police (i have family members and friends that are officers on the street and in the jail) so by no means does this review reflect all officers as a whole. I still back the badge. I have had other great experiences here with other desk personal just not this incident Hopefully after this review my report doesn’t get misfiled or lost in a glitch accidentally deleted shredded. And also I was the hospital with external bruising on my intestines so when I was trying to hand her my i d she didn’t reach over , she made me stretch out and hand it to her . And she didn’t even spell the names correctly on the police , she had all the info in front of her. And she didn’t list the license plate or information I gave her . How terrible that this is the service we get .
