Here on a Friday night for the Cookout. Great live music outside, and excellent food, but for some reason I wasn't expecting having to actually cook my own steak (no big deal, but I suppose that's where the "cookout" comes from, eh?)... Strongly recommend getting your wine/beer *before* cooking, though. If it's a busy night, it can take a while to work through the line and get your drinks while your food sits and gets cold :( Still, would definitely come back again, knowing what I know now!

My fiance' took me here last June and I've been wanting to come back ever since. The food, wine, service and entertainment are a great combination. When the weather permits you can cook your own choice of meats (steak, poultry or fish) complete with a variety of seasoning. The sides and desserts included with the meal are all very fresh and tasty as well.

First the new owners have done some improvements inside the vineyard, it’s a pretty facility. But in all my experience, both of the new owners are very rude and unpleasant to deal with. We are regulars (which is probably going to change, which is a shame cause we live 5 minutes away) we miss the previous owners!! Now as for the food when you are paying $75-$100 for a meal…..I expect top notch…..veggies are slightly steamed and not seasoned, extremely disappointed in all the sides and deserts are dry. Steaks and potatoes were good, although 1 filet was very fatty. Now as for the live music, we enjoyed the duo that was playing but the owner kept asking them to tone it down when everyone was enjoying and getting into the music. Why hire live music and then tell them to keep it down, yeah makes tons of sense!! Also I had a meeting with new owners about having our wedding there…..would have been very convenient….close to home, we love this place or use to, but the owner made me feel as if we couldn’t afford their facility and never followed through with sending me the rest of the information. We are very disappointed as this was one of our favorite vineyards. We may go back for the wine but definitely not the food!!

Decided to stop for dinner, on a weeknight and support a local business. A once lovely building, now in need of repair and attention, greeted us. The tired and old impression continued, as we entered to a pronounced musty smell. We were slow to be greeted (not sure whether we weren't noticed and staff simply didn't care). Once acknowledged, the welcome less than enthusiastic, even after telling the cashier it was our first time visiting. Staff was far more interested in gossiping than making us feel like valued and welcome guests. There's an element of blind faith, as you order, pay and tip upon entering. No one bothered to offer wine suggestions, tell us abouttheir product or anything. It's a vineyard... Overall the menu was adequate, prices reasonable and taste was just okay. If you're not a regular, which most everyone in the small dining area was, be prepared for a learning curve. There is no table service, no water service and a server does not check in with you throughout your meal, offer refills or suggest bottle service. Live music was an unexpected bonus. With a little effort (or any at all), Valley Vineyards could be a charming local gem (that perhaps it once was) where you linger over a bottle of wine and a cheese plate. Our whole experience felt "off" and we definitely felt like outsiders. Apply some of that extra effort to customer service and customer experience so that a new customer might become a regular, repeat customer. Sadly, no one applied any effort. We will not be a regular nor repeat customer. Instead we'll find a local, full-service restaurant with a great wine selection.

It's not usually an issue unless the river is high, like now. Wear a life vest.
