Needlessly uncomfortable and terrible service. My first visit here went fine, but the associate that helped me was a bit confused and it took a while to get started. I wasn’t upset at all about it but the associate offered to comp my next tan. Went in today for it and a different associate couldn’t figure out how to get the process started but affirmed that she could see in the notes that I had a comp tan to use. The manager came over to help, read the note aloud about the issue the other staff member had had, and read that someone had advised the staff member to offer me a comp. The manager then grilled me about whether or not I had received a spray tan previously. After a long line of weird questioning and her telling me she didn’t “understand why” I received a comp, despite the fact that she had just read aloud for both of us to hear the reason why, as well as unpromptedly telling me “I am the manager, Angela”, telling me that the prior associate didn’t work there anymore (even tho it was clear she had followed instructions), and making it out as if I were trying to lie, I was told I wouldn’t be able to get a comp and should instead purchase a membership for discount… clearly after that interaction I had no interest in becoming a regular member. Ultimately as a “compromise” I was comped the accelerator, after being told I had to stay out of water 24 hours after a tan (I now know it’s actually only 12 hours that you need to stay out of water). After the bizarre conversation and getting reverse-karened, I won’t be returning. I do like the spray machine they have so cheers for that, and cheers to the associate that left - hopefully her new boss has a greater “understanding” of customer service.

DO NOT JOIN. am updating my review. I have been here a handful of times. Each time the customer service gets worse. I stood there for 20 minutes while the staff tried to find my account. They couldn’t. They called the owner. No answer. So they said I couldn’t use any of the services. Even though I had paid $70 as a member. No apology. She just kept saying “they won’t let me do anything without them”. So they essentially have no customer service if something happens. I felt so bad for the girl. I could tell this happens constantly. I told her this was bananas and I would cancel my account. Her reply “I don’t blame you. This is happening a lot.” There are so many other places downtown. Don’t let them fool you with the fancy lights. It’s a smoke show. I assume they’ll be out of business soon with this zero star level of customer service. Moreover, they won’t let me out of my “contract” for the month so I am having to dispute it with my CC. Luckily, I can.

Never clean, constant staff turn over, the computers and tanning beds never work and the new owners of the salon don’t care about actual customer service, just money, always trying to up sale… even the premium customers. I come in 3-4 times a week and have yet to have a great experience. There are a few employees that are friendly and try to help but they even speak poorly about the tanning beds and new ownership/company. Modern tan (the original salon) was more expensive but the staff was always friendly and the employees were always consistent…never had an issue with power being out/computers not working/ beds out of order… sad to have to switch salons but glo tan is not living up to the hype… def not a luxury/clean salon. Sucks for all fitness competitors in the area. Especially since this is prime competition season.
