Downtown Transit Center Pass

A smaller number of bus riders is using the bus routes and transit center which makes it much more comfortable downtown. Rider's and Resident's seem to be much more clean, sober, kind and alert upon communication with Anchorage Local Downtown Resident's. Grounds are much cleaner from trash and debris.

This place can be a little crazy. But the police and staff there keep it a nice place for the most part. Easy to find what bus you want to take and maybe even chat it up with someone new. Friendly and helpful staff and nice people there also.

Honestly this transit center is my bread and butter in my life growing up before the marine corps. I use to take the bus for the first time on my own in 2015, when I started going to college and came back to anchorage on my own. I remember the food facilities that use to be there and I loved the food and snacks. Unfortunately there have been a lot of budget cuts in this place and it has closed and opened multiple times. They are renovating it at the moment, but it seems even GCI cleared out of there. Don’t think the center will be as great as it use to. But it’s cleaner now, and there are law enforcement officers at times to make sure people stay safe. Hope they bring back stores inside again.

Took the bus from the airport to downtown Anchorage. All day pass for seniors is only $2.50, so a great bargain if you are in Anchorage for the day and want an easy way to get around town. Asked at the downtown transit center how to get back to the airport. Ticket sales person was very helpful.
