I was at the WRC to pick up a tortoise for transport. Nice and efficient transaction and all great Covid-19 protocols in place.

I had two newborn flying squirrels fall from a nest. Made a call and I drove to their home and found the Mrs. Feeding a baby squirrel from a tiny syringe. My foundlings were handed over and placed in a warmed terrarium and was I told they will be fed every two hours and were sure to make it. These folks seem to devote themselves to wildlife rehabilitation. Please know that they are a senior couple and after meeting them, would not have expected them to have picked up these little guys. I was happy to make the trip to their house and know that at least they will have a chance to make it back into the wild.

The center is not for public veiwing. They do however operate on donations from the public. They are just too busy all day attending to, cleaning, medicating the animals in care. They orchestrate with volunteers to transport injured animals to and from the center, veterinarians and other volunteers. They organize with grocery stores produce pick ups and have to order from suppliers constantly. They do publish a newsletter. I would recommend making a donation and get added to their mailing list.
