These shelters need help. I support my local safe shelter as much as I can. My Chihuahua (18 yo) was killed by neighbors Akitas 4 weeks ago. So I am looking for a small dog or kitten to have a furever home in his memory.

We got our Casper here. We are so blessed to have added such a sweet member to our family. Everyone that worked there was so kind and caring. Go find your new forever pet. They have plenty of sweet animals here that need a home. 🐕 🏡 💋

I adopted two great dogs from NF shelter before SAFE took over. SAFE charges too much. I understand they have a lot of cost to cover, but it is too much for a retiree. I am prepared to cover medical expenses after I adopt.

They need to update their business phone and information or take down their address if they aren't doing business anymore. There are other businesses that are overlooked that help animals that can't be accessed because they are taking up space and not updating appropriately. A person from the neighborhood used my phone and tried to reach them the other day because a person living near my mom is abusing their dogs and they are never home. No one is doing anything about it in palatka and other cases take priority. For a town to say they are hiring people there aren't enough hiring in areas and places of work that need it like here and for the animal control units.

Contact the main SAFE location in St Augustine
I'm sure they would love to have you in some capacity... Just give them a call..
Depends on the age of the animals. However, they all come to spayed or neutered, ID chips, all shots, vet checked, heartworm checked, and rabies vaccination.
Yes
SAFE is located in Hollister. I would recommend coming by and seeing the pets. If you adopt from safe the pets will be spayed or neutered/chipped/ and up to date on shots. Open 7 days a week but full staff Monday thru Friday
Pure bred dogs are more rare there than mixed breeds, when they do have them they are adopted pretty fast. Would be best to call their main shelter in St Augustine as the shelter in Hollister is sometimes too busy to answer the phone. There is a fee
The palatka one wants to charge u for a dog they claim 3 yrs old but he was 7 so I wouldn't recommend them
It's been my experience, that they never answer, phone calls
Agreed think parental approval is required. But, most of all love and a big heart. ❤
Please understand their space is limited and that's a lot of cats. I understand your situation and sure they will too. If they can't take them all I'm sure they have other ideas for finding homes. Blessings
