We booked with The Douglas Beach House for my husbands surprise birthday party. While the price was reasonable for the exceptional view, beautiful space, and super cool musical history of the venue, I was blown away by the experience because of the personal care and responsiveness of the owner and suggested support staff/vendors. I was pregnant at the time of setting up the party; the owner worked with me to keep everything a surprise and even stayed at the venue and helped me a bit. The sound quality and stage were exceptional as well - we had a band and this was the perfect venue to make this event happen. The event manger was helpful, warm, and unintrusive. Overall I can’t say enough good about the experience of the venue and working with the Douglas Beach House team!!

Douglas Beach House is a true gem! It's a beautiful location, & home to Bach Society jazz venue. An intimate setting with great jazz, often world-famous musicians playing great music at affordable prices in this small, 200-seat venue simply because they love both the place & it's history. If you like jazz, this is a must-go place! If you don't like jazz, go anyway if only for the ambiance & the views!

It served it's purpose but outside of the brick and mortar functional point to it's existing on Earth to begin with ... lacked. Beginning with the commanding presence of a hulk like manager who made it a point to focus on a Steinway pianos well being over the needs of the actual living people around her. Quite strange and very distracting to all guests she turned out to be.

I am a wedding coordinator who had a wedding here. This is a wonderful place to have your dream wedding. With the gorgeous view and coastal ambiance as well as the amazing service and food here. All of our guests had enjoyed the wedding here. Highly recommend!

Most of the year there is no longer a beach. The ocean comes up all the way to the cliffs. Even during the times there is a beach, it is difficult to access the beach due to the cliffs and the weather conditions are very unpredictable, especially the wind. We have heard of people getting married north or south of Miramar but we don't have any information on that You could check with the town of Half Moon Bay such as the chamber of commerce.
Unfortunately we do not have an elevator. There is one flight of stairs.
Thanks for your inquiry. We are not geared towards small events. Anything less than about 40 people would not be cost effective. You might look at our vacation rental (https://www.vrbo.com/829624). The living room is a very large space with 180 degree views and a deck with separate rooms for breakout. However, there is a 3 night minimum, but perhaps you are looking for more than one day and/or accommodations.
