I'm seriously disappointed in the repair service and repairman sent out to me today. I'd had 3 times in the last month that I noticed my fridge was not as cold as it should be. When it didn't seem to be working, I scheduled with the kenmore specialist, sears, as they have always been quality repairmen and appliances. A kid shows up, early by a couple hours, and tells me first that he would have to reschedule because he could not properly diagnose the problem. The fridge is in a snug spot, with a standing freezer on one side, and stackable plastic drawers on the other. I told him I could move the bins in under 10 minutes, and he told me that it was the compressor, 100%. He said the repair/replacement would cost around $1000, and that it wasn't really worth it. He suggested I buy a whirlpool or maytag brand. When I asked if it's possible it could be anything else, he said 100% it was the compressor. Well, I can't confidently make a decision to repair vs replace without a proper diagnosis being made, so I declined the "estimate". Charged me $79 for showing up, and all he could tell me was that my fridge was 70-80°, freezer 36° Just after he left, I opened the fridge, and could feel the cold air. I used the old fridge/freezer thermometer, and sure enough, fridge was 42°, freezer was 10°. I read that there are many things to check before suspecting the compressor. Firstly, my fridge has been running quietly all along, the only time there wasn't a gentle, quiet hum, was when it seemed "off". Less than a week ago, the freezer drawer seemed frozen, probably one of the kids didn't close it properly, and the rails had iced. Which also means the fan could have iced too... I'm no repairman, and I prefer to pay the professionals to figure it out and fix it. But this kid wasn't interested. Disappointed is an understatement. Decided to buy a new one before this one really does quit, but I don't want the sears home service warranty anymore if this is the repair service they offer. Find a local handyman, save yourself time and money.

I thought the resin needed to be replaced but the technician checked my Kenmore water softener and found that it was working properly. So glad the resin didn’t have to be replaced…would have cost a lot of money.

Technician for our LG washer was superb! She made sure everything works and suggested ways to keep it in good shape.

This is NOT Sears, it is Cinch. They cancelled my service appointment without even speaking to me. Then lied and said that I called in to cancel and reschedule it. All this happened 26.5 hours after I bought the Appliance Warranty, which was also 30 minutes into my scheduled 4 hour window repair appointment. I then spent almost 3 hours on the phone calling different departments and speaking with about 5 representatives to get a full refund because there were no techs available to keep the appointment. Ultimately, I found out it is a network of contractors just as I thought, so why not cut out the middle man and the headache of dealing with "Sears."

You’ll get the same appointment availability, regardless of whether you book online or call. Booking online is easy, and usually takes less time than calling.
