It's Beach is a great place for dogs! It was so unbelievable and amazing how all the dogs were happy and super friendly to each other. Just pure fun and joy! There is a little busket with a note from the owner who lost their dog and they're doing a good deed of sharing the play balls. Very touching!

Nice small beach. Lots of dogs, which can make it sorta noisy if you just want to sit. Good surfing nearby and lots of young people on weekends. Accessible at night but not a great nighttime walk since it’s short and the sand is loose and slippery.

Dogs everywhere!! It’s literally a dog’s beach. While we were there, it was like we interfered in their ball catching games. Still it’s an awesome beach to visit during the sunset. Natural arch on the right side of the beach is just beautiful to watch. Treat to photographers and enthusiasts. Parking is tight in there. So, just hang in there to find a spot.

It's the best dog beach, I've ever been to <3 So many cool dogs and easy going people. My crazy pup had the time of her life there :) Definitely recommend and worth a detour :)

Since this beach is 24hr, does it allow “camping” on the beach itself, and are you allowed to have a campfire? Also is the public bathroom open 24hr as well?

Camping / overnight parking isn't allowed by this beach. Campfires are also not allowed at Its. Hope this helps to answer some questions!

The main stairs are a few short flights of stairs. Easy peasy. Nice beach! Dogs and an arch, what more could you ask for?

I read on the web that the only truly legal off leash beach in Santa Cruz is Michells beach. Is this true?

Not sure about legalities but plenty of dogs play on Its Beach on weekends/days and have never been reprimanded
