Great place to enjoy sunset, let your dog off leash on a beach below or just stroll on the promenade alongside the ocean

Such beauty. The entire beach setting, with homes facing the sea, is absolutely stunning

This is the best place to bring your dogs! And the sunset views are amazing from this point.

This is a gorgeous little lighthouse located in Santa Cruz, which also houses the surfing museum. You can see surfers from the surfing school trying to catch the waves. While you can easily drive there, I would recommend walking along a trail, that meanders along the coast and gives you beautiful views of the ocean. You can start at Natural Bridges State Beach and walk along the ocean to the Lighthouse. It’s a 5 mile loop and gives you plenty of opportunities to get amazing pictures of the shoreline. The path is bike friendly and it’s an easy walk. On a Saturday afternoon, if you are looking for something fun and easy to do, you can definitely try this.

25 - 30 steps with railing support. While coming up some people might need assistance getting through the first few steps as they are not normal height.
Closest area is Natural Bridges State park about a mile north along West Cliff drive.. $5.00 entry fee. Very nice with bathrooms and shower facilities. No overnight parking. Open sunrise to sunset.

Like just about all other state park, they open until sunset ...you should check the website https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=550
It sits out in the open

Fires are only allowed in pits on beaches south of the boardwalk
Its walking distance to a miriad of restraurants on the wharf and along the ocean front. Sandwich shops to fine dining. There is even a fish taco stand near the bathrooms. Supposed to be pretty good!
