Big Bus tour is a convenient way to tour the city. I like that it also has the live update of the sites you're passing by. The only thing is we were suppose to pass by Lombard for the crookedest street but the bus skipped it for some reason. Otherwise the Big Bus tour experience is informative, convenient and affordable

We really liked the big bus tour in San Francisco, they did a great job explaining the ins and outs of the city. I think any hop on hop off bus is always a great activity to do when you arrive to a new city to get acclimated to what’s what.

We find Hop-on-Hop-Off buses the best way to tour any city. We just find so much new information and get so much out of it. This had 16 stops it was quite a long tour; well worth the money especially if you stop at some of the stops and get back on. We just rode it all the way and did not get off. I suggest as you get close to the Golden Gate bridge; if it’s a little chilly out that you go downstairs as it is freezing when you go across up top. There’s not much seating downstairs so get it earlier rather than later; before they make an announcement. This is a recorded Commentary and I found that sometimes it was a little early as we were not at the location that they were speaking about quite yet. It seemed after the first couple of stops it got caught up and was much better. Some of the headphone jacks weren’t working too well, I had to hold mine and place an order for it to not cut out. This was mentioned to the staff. You may want to try the headphone Jack where you are sitting first in case you need to move. There is a lot covered on this to her and it is well worth the price.

Did the Muir Tour with Lester and then the hop on hop off. The Muir tour was great! We had an hour and a half in the woods and also stopped by the Golden Gate Bridge for a photo opp. Lester was pleasant, informative and funny. He drove well and I comfortable in the large, clean van. The large windows allowed me to get awesome pictures. The hop on hop off tour was equally impressive for the number and locations of stops it made. My only issue was with the prerecorded tour guide. It's less personable and occasionally started early or didn't sync with where we were at. Overall good value to get the big picture of San Francisco

Wheelchair friendly at lower level. On the first floor it's NOT possible.
We parked at our Hotel Travellodge at fishernans wharf ... bur there are a lot puplic parking garages in the near ... you can walk there
The service is pretty bad, wait enough, translators, are untimely, and the schedule is until 17, if you're on vacation I schedule is that?
When we were there, the buses passed more or less every half hour ... anyway you can ask the guide.
If you plan to get off at a stop to go exploring and wait for the next bus you can try find a bathroom there. The longest stop however (other than the first/last) is golden gate bridge and there should be enough time to run to the bathroom there. Often the guides use this as their bathroom break. All other stops are for as long as it takes for people to get on or off the bus.
It’s non refundable
Hello George, We are not operating our night tour on December 24th and will be closed on Christmas Day. Thank you and season's greetings.
Hello, We have the California Welcome Center open at Pier 39. We also have a Redemption Center at 333 O'Farrell Street open Thursday through Monday.
Hello, If you mean redeem, you can do that with any Big Bus employee, even drivers. Thank you!
Hello, Bring them to our Stop 1, Pier 41, ask for a manager, and we can exchange those for tickets. Be sure to bring the original tickets. Thank you!
Purses and bags - we had some on board with us. They actually drop you off at different locations where you can go shopping. So I don't think it's a problem. Matter of fact almost everybody had curses and shopping bags. If you take the round trip tour without getting off it's not a problem. I can tell you that we had bags and purses with us
They are only in the city of San Francisco...Fisherman's Wharf
Yes go to 99 Jefferson st principal office
Yes it can be done. There is a booking centre from where the Big Bus starts
20min max
You can download the app and select the city in which you are staying. The app will show you the locations where the bus will be and you can also track it. They usually have specific points that the bus drops and picks up. Bus comes every 15 to 30 minutes.
No only if you paid for 2 days then yes you can take it But if you only paid for one day it's only for that particular day only.
Any stop would be fine
There is a few spots around the city where you can buy passes for the bus but the main center and where they take off from is their Visitors Center in Fisherman's Wharf. I don't remember prices but they vary depending of what tour you decide to buy. You can get more information on their website and you can also buy online using their website or one of the pass services that are offered like GoCity (sometimes at a discount).
It does not. Pier 39 has garage parking, though, and it is just a mere 5 minute walk, maybe.
There's places to board all over the city. We boarded down by pier 39. I can't remember the exact price but I want to say it was around $50 a person. It was worth the price. Get seats on top of the bus and make sure you have a hat or sunshade. Bring snacks and a drink too. Use the restroom before the tour starts as there are no restrooms on the bus. The tour is long. You can get on and off the bus at any of the designated spots all over the city. Although, if you get off near the golden gate bridge it is hard to get back on with all the crowds of people. If you follow the above advice your tour will be way more enjoyable. My husband and I took our 4 children age 1-9 and had a wonderful time.
Yes
If the tour goes on Lombard street and has a stop there then you can get off. I can't remember the stopping points. But wherever they have a stopping point you can get on or off. They should have a map you can view to plan ahead. I'm pretty sure there was a stop point close to Lombard if not on Lombard street. Sorry I couldn't be more specific.
Yes. As far as I know you can. When we went there were other people with strollers. We chose to use a baby carrier pack since it was easier than hauling a stroller, though.
