Hmmmm I've been going here off and on for the past 6 years now and I'm gonna tell you what I think of the place there is in fact a lot of favoritism going on they don't seem to care if your trying to get back on your feet on not the ones they like are the ones that get an extension the ones the don't like are the ones that they make leave after there 2 week stay and o yea let's not forget that there kinda racist too almost every member of there staff are in fact white and most of the people are in fact of a different ethnicity that are they ones they ask to leave and now there denying a lot of homeless here any food, water, showers, all because of someone stealing things out of the fenced in area of the p it's not right nor is it fair that a lot of innocent homeless people have to suffer all cause Laura said but yet there supposed to be Christian based witch means there supposed to be sympathetic, there also supposed to forgiving they also are not supposed to judge people there is only one person out of the whole place that actually has compassion and his name is Steve.

I first met up with Beacon Light Mission in the year 2017 I just became homeless left my apartment and got out of a 10-year relationship TriMet with my case manager and she gave me suggestions to go to the Beacon Light Mission also the Long Beach Rescue Mission to be able to and possibly get some services I had been to the Long Beach rescue mission for food before but not for services of a shelter so I began my stay at the shelters had to call in every night at 8:45 for Beacon Light Mission my first interaction with Beacon Light wasn't for about 2 weeks almost I was calling in every night and finally I was told to be at the backgate at 6 a.m. there was two openings in its first come first serve a buddy that I was staying with on the couch until I was able to get in a place told me you better show up there about 3:34 in the morning brother if you want a chance to get in and that's what I did around 5 5:30 this gentleman with the baseball cap starts coming around and doing things in the back area and he kept looking at me and I said good morning it is good morning you here for a bed I said yes sir is that all right mr. Dennis will be out here in about 20 minutes okay sure thank you and that's how I got my introduction into the Beacon Light Mission or they offer short-term shelter services a warm dinner close case management opportunities for homelessness fan with mister Dennis running running the TV you'll never forget those old old western movies from the 1800 Roy Rogers John Wayne the real old old country western movies cuz that's all we watch there

I've been a volunteer at Beacon Light for a year. It's been a beautiful experience. They are a BIG blessing to our homeless community. The staff members are very nice & helpful. I'm thankful to them for letting us be a part of God's work in Wilmington. May the Lord continue blessing & guiding the staff.

I have been at this Mission 3 times. It is safe, clean, fun, the Services and meals are good. The place is holy, as are the people who work there, and many if not all who stay there, at least holy in some ways! : )

You'd have to call them & ask, if not, you can always go around to the alley way behind the mission & pass the stuff out to all the folks living in tents in the alley...

Pretty much like Mark Glover has mentioned, call the Beacon Light Mission and a nice man will answer the phone and just ask him about the availability of a bed.

My daughter is living on the street in this city. She needs help getting a California id so she can get a job. Can you help her with this?

She should go to the Long Beach Multi-Service Center. They have social workers that can help with many things including a voucher for getting an ID and a mail service.
