It's been one of those nights for me. I'm heading to PDX from Medford. weird stuff keeps happening to me. I won't go into detail but just off the wall weird stuff. So I stopped at the flying J pilot travel center, in rice hill, my favorite pit stop for my PDX trips. I went in for a pick me up, snack and drink...and to get lost for a bit in their fun store. Everywhere you turn you hear someone say ooohhh what's that or oh look at this! they've got unique stuff. Anyway I ended up misplacing my debit card between the casino and pilot! So I ran out and cancelled it, just to find it 1 minute later! Then I went back and got my snack. Sat in my car eating it and then put my keys in to start my car and it wouldn't start? Omg? Now what? So I pull my type- s battery charger from Costco out to charge it when no ones looking cuz I'm embarrassed! It tells me to, connect to the battery? I'm like you are connected to the battery? Hello???? wiggling it on the post, still no acknowledgement to the device. I went and messed with it in my car and tried a couple more times to no avail. Damnit! So I call inside the store and a gentlemen name Gary answers...I tell him my problem and he meets me outside. He's going to get his charger and help me out. As he's walking across the cold parking lot I try one more time to start my car with my charger. He comes back just as I'm putting the keys in to start it. He informs me that his chargers not in his car and stands over my charger and my car turns over? I felt so stupid! I swear I did the same thing 5 times before calling for help! He just joked and laughed and didn't get upset! He went out of his way to help me and stayed light hearted. Honestly his reaction could have changed my night. This kind of stuff had been happening all day and I was over it!!! Thank you Gary for going above and beyond. There's very little of that kind of service and or kindness anymore. COVID made people lazy and crazy. . Your a rarity and I'm glad you were on my path this crazy nite! Things are looking up!😜

I don't know what it is about pilot / flying J truck stops but the majority of there travel centers are poorly designed. You can hhave 20 acres for truck parking and they'll find a way to screw it up so you can only park 100 trucks !!! They need to fire the clown who designed their parking lots...

Very clean..... huge store.. decent parking lot. Denny's is always a plus at truck stops.. Showers were clean but need to fix the hot water. Mine was barely warm

This place is usually really good but the blond chick tonight was completely unprofessional and irresponsible. She was to busy on her phone rather then paying attention to the customers waiting for her to pump gas. Rude. This person should be fired and another more educated individual should be employed. She even topped off gas when I asked her not to. So are you going to pay for the sensors in my gas tank when they go bad from over filling? Shame for shame. Well, we now know where I will no longer visit. Only takes one time.
