Its a decent hike. The bridge you walk across is spectacular. We went in spring break 2021, muddy trails. Only remnants of a few buildings are standing. The clearing of where the town was is clearly visible. The river is beautiful and the trees and moss make it feel majestic.

It was sad. There was so much trash left from previous visitors and the sites have been vandalized. We went out to see how nature reclaimed the town. It would have been pretty magnificent if the whole hike wasn't littered. It was extremely disappointing. Need something to restore my faith in humanity. Pack it in, pack it out.

The trail begins at the Fairfax bridge, north east side. I wanted to see the old abandoned car but I couldn't find it. I saw old abandoned brick or stone buildings and that was rewarding. You can't really make out what they were for.

Very nice hike. Was quite muddy but made for some family fun getting all muddy. Will be going back again. My twins had an absolute blast.
