As a student? Please. Take this from me. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE. They don't assist your neurodivergent children unless they are in the Sunrise program. The environment is horrible, with Village Glen being the worst. The children are extremely badly behaved, physically and verbally abusing peers. The teachers do notning to stop this, it is absolutely relentless. They don't have tools to help. The closest thing they do to help you is the "refocus room", however, it's literally just solitary confinement. No talking. No food. No distractions. No chairs. JUST A ROOM. It's horrible. While some may enjoy it for sensory deprivation, I personally have a problem with sitting still. I need some kind of stimulus. In short: this place is hell on earth

I used to like this school so much because there were good teachers and have fun activities earlier. As I get older, this school has been going downhill because of the administration change. The rules were getting unfair, toxic students, and corrupt officials. At least there are some good teachers that I like. So I would not recommend this school for your kids with high functioning autism or special needs.

Best non public school in LAUSD for Autism. It was a great move for my son. The teachers are very patient and understanding. Classroom size is small so your child gets the most from the curriculum. I love this school. It has been a God Send for my child and my family.

It's a school for kids with autism. K -12
To expand on Linda's answer, yes, they do accept Down Syndrome kids, but they are NOT kept on a separate campus. I'm only familiar with the Sherman Oaks campus, but it is divided into 6 Branches: Sunrise (students with severe retardation or down syndrome), Bridgeport (honestly, a mix of everything; some kids were there for just refusing to do homework, others had actual retardation), Beacon (the first Academic Branch, supposed to deal exclusively with autistic students who also struggle with severe emotional and/or behavioral difficulties), Core (for high functioning students, who still struggle with some emotional and behavioral difficulties), Pace (these are basically normal kids at this point. There's no need for this branch, the students should just be allowed to go free), VIP (it might as well stand for "Very Important Parents." Kids who should be in Bridgeport or Sunrise find their way to Core and Pace classes because their parents are rich or are lawyers.) Hope this helps!
Wow, after a year and they still haven't answered this? Do they really have such bad faculty turnover they couldn't even answer with a simple list of the few Principals they have? If they can't tell you who's going to look after your kids, DO NOT TRUST THEM.
