One of the best psychiatric hospital there is. Tanya( case manager), Dr. Goenjian, Robert( social worker), all the nurses and the rest of the team working there are just amazing. Thank you all for taking care of my son.

I have a family member who has mental health issues. He has been in several psychiatric facilities and Oceanview is the best. The staff really cares about the patients and the family. They are kind and compassionate. They assist the patient and family after discharge which is a testament to their philosophy.

This is a review of my last experience coming to the facility but not of the facility as a whole that was less than acceptable . The admissions worker I spoke to was extremely rude and insensitive. The impression I got from her was arrogant and that of someone who believed that because she was working there and that I was seeking help that she was better than everyone else. That kind of attitude is less than acceptable in a health care facility. The situation that catalyzed the interaction was that during review of admission the medical director she was having a chat conversation with discussing my admission stated that if i were to refuse taking medications I could be held under review for transfer to a locked facility. I found the threat outrageous and extremely unnecessary. I said as much to the worker and stated that was not only illegal but unnecessary considering I told her upfront I'd be willing to try medications (at my previous stay I refused due to experiences with them in the past.) the admissions worker tried to get into a debate with me about this, citing her position as a worker there but I realized the kind of person I was speaking to then and just told her she was straight up wrong. I then asked to speak to the director who she was already having a conversation with and apparently this person refuses to do so. This to me shows a lack of accountability, transparency, and professionalism at the highest position of the hospital if the person is not willing to hear complaints or feedback, even when he is already available to speak. The threat of me being held under lock was a cowardly but empty threat as I knew it wouldn't result in anything but made me think twice about wanting to stay at a place that was run by a person like this. Also note that this facility is operating under the label of voluntary hospital but the way they operate (if you want to leave without approval you can never come back) is close to false pretense.

Checked in due to mental breakdown. I got my Own room, cable computer usage and personal cell phone hours and cigarettes. The food is catered and the staff are excellent. This place is voluntary meaning the doors own for u to leave anytime.

They have several pictures of their unit on their Facebook page. It looks like a nice place, and private rooms. :-)
Yes there's smoke breaks i think every 2 to 4 hours. You cannot go out on your own to smoke. And they go as a group. Last tonne i was there they allowed me to have my own unopened pack brought in they held in the cigarette box. But they also have they own supplied cigs.
No, That is CNS. Oceanview is an adult psychiatric hospital which can prescribe medications already on the market.
Not the whole building just a suite built as a psych facility.
I have done mental health awareness talks here; it is a facility that caters to adults only.
All of their beds are voluntary patients. They don't do involuntary holds.
