I cannot figure out why there would be any negative reviews of this apartment complex. Let alone the number of bad things being said here on Google... I wouldn't call anybody a liar but my experience living here has been Extraordinary. When picking a home I think that one of the first things you look at is the actual property. The exterior property is beautifully maintained. There are literally at me 100 palm trees and walking my dog at night it was a stirring experience. There are four or five pools one of them being an olympic size pool that is beautiful at night and during the day. There are so many on-site amenities that I couldn't list them all but one of my favorite, and definitely worth mentioning, would be the Koi pond. I love to sit down and listen to the water move while I meditate or sometimes write in my journal. It is so peaceful and calming. The next thing you have to consider would be the interior of the apartments. I have lived at several properties that are local and some of the newer ones, such as the George, they just don't compare. All of these new properties seem to have spent all of their money on amenities and none of the money on building a solid home from the inside. Gateway is much different they seem to have found the perfect balance between inside and outside. The walls are nice and thick so you don't hear every single conversation of your neighbors. The interior has good appliances and very solid overall building quality. One thing that is mandatory to mention about this property is the absolutely amazing staff. Everybody on the maintenance team has gone Totally Above and Beyond any expectation that I could ever have for a property or residential community. Mike, Kai, Adrian, Ruben, all of them consistently go above and beyond the Call of Duty to make sure every resident is taken care of. If for some reason you have a maintenance request you can count on somebody being there the same day to take care of you. I would find myself wondering how they were able to do it so efficiently while other communities that I stayed at would have such a difficult time. The MAINTENANCE TEAM is absolutely amazing here at the community and I appreciate all of their work. It's not just maintenance that goes above and beyond, the leasing staff is also very well trained, professional, courteous and always there to help. Kristen and Meghan are two names that off of the top of my head I can say were always there for me no matter what my issues were. This property has some of the most professional and courteous staff that I've seen in my life. Thank you so much for everything that you do! I would be lying if I said that every single aspect of living here is perfect because there is one thing that I was not a fan of and and I can see a lot of other people had issues with and that would be the parking situation. Being right next to Angels Stadium means that there are a lot of people trying to save money during Angel games and just in general there are so many people and we could use a little bit more guest parking. Pro tip... Golden Road Brewery is right next door off of the Orangewood exit and they allow overnight parking or at least I've been able to have my guest park there overnight without ever having anybody have any issues with being towed or their cars being damaged 🤞🏼 I was just trying to Google for directions from Los Angeles and I happened to see all of the negative reviews and thought that I should take some time out of my day to address them and make sure that everybody knows that Gateway Apartments is A1 in my book. The grounds, the staff and the residents are top tier. If you're looking for a new home definitely check this place out... they aren't one of these new properties that are all amenity without any substance on the inside. They are the real deal!! Thank you to the Gateway team and the Irvine Company for having given me such a beautiful and blessed home.

Current state of this complex. I wouldn’t recommend anyone moves into this community! The Irvine Company and management have failed when it comes to trash management. I was told the building wasn’t built to code and residents must have recycling at every level(don’t think that’s true or correctly understood by management). In my personal opinion the front office/Irvine Company aren’t taking a strong enough stance on this issue and residents aren’t held accountable for where they put trash. Inside those walk ways are direct access to the units. Who would want to come home to trash piled up, flies and roaches EVERYDAY?! The best answer I received was “…more pick ups”. Yea that doesn’t happen and even if they did actually pick up twice a day it doesn’t handle the amount of trash residents place there. Western Pacific isn’t the answer. Silver bins or trash cans as you see in the pictures aren’t the answer. No trash should be allowed in the walk ways and residents should be held accountable. You don’t pay $3000+ to live in a place that tolerates trash management like this. Called The Irvine Company HQ a month ago and still haven’t received a call back. But I don’t even want a call or message below just fix the issue.

The community grounds are well groomed and it's a convenient place to live if you work nearby. Have had a few minor issues with my unit, but maintenance is timely with completing services. Extremely limited guest parking, though. I've had to buy parking passes for the UCI lot across the street because there's never any available parking here. Incredibly frustrating how packages are dealt with here, too. Management needs to be more strict with couriers. FedEx, UPS, and Amazon packages are blatantly left in a public resident storage room for anyone to grab. Other residents and I have lost numerous packages while living here, and management continues to allow couriers to drop packages off in a parcel room that anyone with a community fob can access. I was told that management has a strong relationship with local shipment centers, yet the problem persists. I was planning to stay here for an additional year, however am strongly considering other luxury communities around the area.

This is a very nice complex but we have found several safety related issues that need to be addressed and unfortunately our comments have fallen into deaf ears. There are a few areas for “loading and unloading only”, clearly posted “no overnight parking” and these are supposed to be designated fire lanes as well but security can care less; if you need them you can find them smoking by the pool or hanging out on the roof. Day and night there are several cars illegally overnight in these spaces, some blocking the view creating a safety hazard. A few days ago we almost got hit by a car driving fast because there was a large moving truck parked on the corner obstructing the view to the entrance of the parking structure. There is a loading and unloading space for this but 2 vehicles were occupying it. Same goes for the parking structure, cars parked in handicap spaces with expired placards or not even a placard but a receipt from the DMV which clearly states that is a receipt and not valid for disabled ID.
