I had an automobile accident in 2013. I had a tibia plateau fracture that needed surgery and therefore I was placed at Santa Rosa Post Acute which was called Golden Living at the time. The funny part is it was literally next-door to where my sister lives!!! I did get great care but there were points at which I had to advocate for myself too with staff. Physical therapy was excellent as well as occupational therapy. I still give credit to the RN staff for their concern for their compassion and for their help that it might’ve been done imperfectly at the time. I would still highly recommend it no matter what. I don’t even hesitate!!!

THEY INTENTIONALLY GAVE MY BROTHER COVID! My brother was a patient there in December 2021 when COVID was found to have infected several patients and staff. My brother and his roommate were tested along with the other residents. The roommate tested positive and my brother tested negative (and he was entirely free of symptoms). For approximately 48 hours they kept the roommate in the same room with my brother, knowing that this was an intentionally dangerous exposure for my brother. The roommate was coughing frequently and was unmasked the entire time. As a result of this prolonged exposure, my brother started having a cough. When I called and spoke with the manager Sharon, I was told that they intentionally did not place the roommate in another room because they did not wish to create an additional "red" room (meaning contaminated). She insisted that it was totally within the protocols to intentionally keep my brother in close proximity to a known infected patient. I informed her that I lived out-of-state but that I would be making the 240-mile drive to remove him from this unsafe facility. When I arrived they were doing a quick COVID test on him and, not at all surprisingly, he now tested positive. I will be filing a report with Adult Protection Services when they are in the office Monday morning.

I was recently invited to attend a community carnival/celebration at Santa Rosa Post Acute. It was fantastic. The staff was so fun and friendly. The food was prepared on site by their kitchen staff and it was delicious. They had patients out celebrating with them and I could tell that the employees sincerely cared about the individuals that they are helping. I toured the facility and I was impressed that those same observations continued through the building. A lot of nursing staff was present and available to assist and the facility looked and felt great. I’m happy that there are partners like Santa Rosa Post Acute in town that we can trust to care for our loved ones.

My mother received exceptional care at this home. Very friendly and caring. She was there only for a short period of time, however, during this time my family was there around the clock and could tell they tried their best. Therapy staff did a wonderful job.
