All my documents were lost my passport and birth certificate, the employees treated me poorly very unprofessional. The worst service ever .

I talked to a representative from the National 800 Number and then someone from the Local Office in Burbank about getting a SS Card replacement. They were both very helpful and respectful. Note that if you need a name change to be made to your SS Card, you will need to go to your local SS office in person with your original birth certificate, not a copy. If you can't make it to the SS office you can mail your request with your original birth certificate, but then you take the chance that it could be lost in the mail. They will mail it back to you.

I changed my last name and submitted change of name with my original documents. They lost my original documents. What's worse is that they did not tell me this for two months so I was waiting for the update in agony. I called numerous times and they told me to be patient but after three months of waiting, one of them had the gut to finally tell me that the documents are missing from their office. How can you be patient when you are driving around without a drivers license (one of the document that was required to submit). They said it could either be misplaced and sent to someone else in their envelope (that freaked me out so much more) and that I could either call the USPS to see if anyone had turned it in. Like as if!!!!! COME ON NOW. Do you think that's highly likely???? If they had told me months ago that they had lost it, I would have had started on getting replacements for my drivers license and my other original document. I called wanting a letter from the supervisor to say it was them who had lost it which of course was unanswered. Also one of my original document that I needed replacing cost me over $500. Thanks for NOTHING SSA.

So far I have nothing bad to say. Yes sometimes there is quite a few people and sometimes a wait but other than that the staff is great, and once you get in they try to get you out in a timely manner.

Maybe! I was told I could just show up, then when I got there, waited for them to open, got a number, then was called up, they told me they could not enroll me to start benefits WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT! They also told me that i WAS NOT AT MY "LOCAL OFFICE"! ( I went to Burbank, they said I should be at Glendale). NO WHERE DID I SEE ANY INFORMATION ONLINE STATING ANY OF THIS! It was a wasted trip for me. Also, when I asked for brochures on social security benefit details, ALL THEY HAD WERE BROCHURES FROM OVER A YEAR AGO, WITH INCORRECT INFO! This is glimpse of the "medicare for all" utopia some presidential candidates are promising? NO THANKS!
Now! We’ll see you in 15.
Go on line
You have to call and schedule one. Google the ssi admin to find you're nearest location.
YES!
Yes, you can.
The burbank branch isnt really busy and im sure they can you can also call and they can help you with the application over the phone and you can just go and drop off paper work if needed
I don't know, but what I know is that you can fill out the application on line and come to the ssa and show proof that is you
Not today, and it takes a while to call to have it mailed to you, you may be lucky and get an appointment. 1800 772 1213
Yes, if you have more than one person in your party they may have to wait outside till you are called.
You can get one or walk in. I did walk in and only waited about 30 minutes. It was on a Thursday morning.
You need to open and account at ssi then you can check you account and $$$$
You can but by calling on the listed contact number only.
Call the phone number of your local office and make an appointment. Appointments are within 15 minutes of scheduled time. Otherwise you must download forms online and send original documents including original drivers license, etc... Expect to be without them for about 1 month.
No u need an appt. But I heard that all social security offices r going to open in April.
You have to call them and try to schedule an appointment. If it hands up, they have too many calls
With the pandemic it's by appointments only. Call to make an appointment. My appointment was made a few weeks out (roughly 2 weeks, I asked for the earliest availability) but I was in and out of the building within 15 mins.
Call for appointments. This location is only open for appointments at the moment. They ask for your name, check your ID, ask for your appointment time and for what. I was in and out within 15 minutes. Make sure you have all your required paper work ready for a smoother appointment. If you come early, they make you wait outside until your appointment time. I came exactly five - ten minutes prior and was escorted inside.
No is not, you need to make an appointment, first give them a call
Yes
Can I still come in without an appointment to get a replacement card being with the pandemic going on?
You need some kind of I. D.
You may make an appointment by phone or Internet. Also you can go to the office and take a number and wait for service , found good explanation on fimamcial advantages for each option (early or late retirement) on YouTube. Best wishes for a abundantly blessed retirement

No appointment needed but if there's a lot of people the wait is usually an hour or so.
