Wooooonderful place for a date. It was very hot, but there's a lot of natural shade and tons of places to sit and catch your breath. Fantastic layout to the whole park, and there are so many beautiful and interesting birds!! Our favorite moment was in the Landing Zone, where birds land on you and play with your shoes! :)

Cute place if you love birds of different species. Landing zone was the kids absolute favorite part. There you get to feed the parakeets and they fly all over you. It's loads of fun.

We have lived in Ahoskie, NC and never knew this was even here. They have some beautiful birds here. It's cheap, it's a decent sized place with a lot of birds I've never seen. It is definitely worth a visit.

We love Sylvan heights bird park! My 3yo and 1yo twins love seeing all the birds! They especially love feeding the flamingos and ducks. They also always have fun playing at the park and sifting through the dirt at the fossil station looking for shark teeth! We have season passes and go about once a month.

You can go to your car, as long as you have your sticker on, they give you after you pay
I took 2-3 hours; it is not as large as a zoo, but you can spend time holding and feeding birds in one of the exhibits and are up close with birds walking through other exhibits, lots of photo opportunities....
You can bring food and water. They also offer tours by way of a golf cart.
They have a landing area with birds that actually land on you. For $1, you can purchase popsicle sticks with bird seed on it to feed those birds.
They have a policy about injured birds. I think I saw something posted about it but can't remember if they said they would rehab the bird only or keep it. None of the birds on display seemed to be injured but I'm sure their facility is able to care for the bird. Beautiful place. Really nice and informative employees. Good luck...
