There are bus stops at the station as well as a the city train that is kind of like the Muni trains.. And few blocks away there are more bus stops.

30 mins is best, that way you can find out which track you need to go to, plus it's about a 7 to 10 min walk to the trains from the station.

You cannot get a car rental at the Sacramento Valley Station. You can however get a taxi, Lyft or an Uber instead.

There is a window at the station. You don't need cash. You also can purchase online at https://www.amtrak.com/tickets-reservations. The tix come to your email as a PDF attachment. Open the PDF on your phone, and train conductor can scan.

Walk out of the station and make a right, on the other side of the freeway, tons of restaurants and local stores and railroad museum waiting for you. Or if you make a left and immediate right, the shopping mall is one block away. Enjoy and have fun!!!

Call Amtrak or go to amtrak. Com. There is service from Los Angeles on the sunset limited to Alpine Texas. You would have to book a train from Sacramento to Bakersfield and then take the Amtrak bus from Bakersfield to Los Angeles

Under the freeway there is a public parking for cheap. If you face away from the building its on your right hand side.

Maybe for the capitol corridor train. But you should be contacting the capitol corridor or Amtrak to ask. It isn't that reliable to ask Google maps a question when you should have asked the vendor who sold it to you....

Parking is NOT free. It is a short term lot with central meter stations. I am not sure how much but you get a ticket if you don't pay. I think that you can long term park at the lot under the freeway. If you want a reliable answer you should probably check with parking enforcement. BUT AGAIN, THE PARKING IS NOT FREE...

I have traveled twice with my kids by Amtrak for school field trips and yes you want to be there before 6:40AM to catch the train. And if your parents can't be there to pick up early enough when you guys are back, cross street to Denny's and wait there instead. Have a fun yet safe field trip. It is worth the efforts.

It all depends on if you want morning or evenings. If i get on the 2:10 in sac. I hit susuin about 2:50. And martinez is the next dtop. So 50 minutes at the most.
