My sister was placed by Kaiser for rehabilitation due to a fall down outdoor stairs. When Kaiser released her after 20 days, she needed to remain in the facility until extensive care could be arranged. She was considered a private pay patient. During the 3 weeks she was a private pay patient, not one time did the staff help her up to get out of bed to walk. She asked staff over and over to help. Not once did a staff member get her out of her bed or assist her in sitting up. Walking was essential to her ability to return home. By the time we were able to get her home she had significantly regressed in strength and in her ability to care for herself. When Kaiser released her she could walk 50 feet using a walker. When she came home, she could not stand let alone walk. Warning. Do not subject your loved one to the inhumane treatment at Sunnyside Nursing. It was unethical and inhumane.

This place is NOT a place to send your loved ones. Avoid them at all costs as it may save your loved ones life. They NEVER changed my mother’s surgical dressing and she is now at the hospital with a possible sepsis infection. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Only rated it a one because I had to but it deserves negative stars in every way possible.

They called me up wanting to request an interview. A time was scheduled, but then a completely different time showed up on the confirmation. They did not bother to call me back to ask if this new time would have been okay. I showed up to the interview 10 minutes early. The front desk informed them of my arrival at that time. It was nearly half an hour before they finally saw me. I told them I had to leave immediately due to a medical appointment I had scheduled shortly before this. They claimed they did not know that I had arrived, but that was a lie. Basically, these people don't have any professional courtesy when it comes to potential employees and their schedules outside of work. Large red flag. Then they had the audacity to send me a rejection email like they're the ones that didn't mess up. I also got a look around the place. It's not the cleanest and saw a couple of sketchy things from a couple of their sketchy employees. Consider working or placing your loved one anywhere else but here. These people don't care about their employees or their patients.

I just came home from 8 days of rehab here for a broken femur. This place has such a split personality. The physical therapy department is absolutely top notch. The therapists are excellent at suggesting new exercises to improve your range of motion. The PT room has lots of good quality equipment. I am a good judge of this because 8 months ago, I was at Providence Little Company of Mary for Rehab after a broken pelvis and broken arm. That place has much older equipment and I felt that most of the PT time was spent walking, with few other exercises to get strong. A big thanks to Travis and JC for being such caring and wonderful people!! However, the general living conditions here are very depressing. Most of the residents spend all day in bed with little motivation to get up or get better. I spent many hours in a pleasant outdoor courtyard. In 8 days, I only saw 3 other patients come out there. The communication is frustratingly slow. It took 3 days for them to get their Dr. to approve a drug that my private physician wrote a prescription for. Food quality is minimal - high fructose corn syrup and very little fresh fruit and vegetables. Bathroom cleaning was often overlooked.

Hi Cynthia! Thanks for your interest in volunteering at Sunnyside. We historically have always loved having volunteers and look forward to that day again soon however due to COVID we've had to restrict volunteers right now and are only allowed "essential" workers/visitors like Doctors and Nurses. Please reach back up to us in a few months. Gilbert in Activities heads up our volunteer program. Thanks again!

Can I get food delivered to my sister from Door Dash. She was just admitted last night and I would like to surprise her. Thanks

Sheila Hansen | Aug 26, 2020
Sunnyside Nursing and Post-Acute Care | Aug 26, 2020

Sheila our residents always have a choice to eat whatever they'd like to, but be mindful that due to some medical conditions residents often have special diets to help them recover. As long as she doesn't have any restrictions feel free to send her food. I would recommend in the instructions having them deliver it to the TMU 100 Nursing Station. From the street it is the glass door under the brown awning. Kind of you to think of your sister. Merry Christmas!

What kind of donations do you accept? I donated some puzzles last Sunday.

Marilyn Wright | Aug 27, 2018
Sunnyside Nursing and Post-Acute Care | Aug 27, 2018

Thank you so much! Our residents are very appreciative. We are able to accept items that are new, like new, and items in good repair. We accept wheelchairs, walkers, canes, magazines, books, puzzles/games. For the most part durable reusable items. We, unfortunately, cannot accept items like: medications, diabetic testing supplies, enteral feeding formulas, syringes, and other single-use medical supplies.

What are the visiting hours?

Gabriel Franko | Aug 27, 2018
