Very high prices, but I stop in occasionally as well as other local, small biz gun stores, to see if there is, perhaps, at least one good buy. I LOVE TO HELP SMALL BIZ! (which consequently means higher prices, but understanding the economics of it I can rationalize such price hikes) However, I will never return to this store. A store, that I've browsed through on multiple occasions, and while I found no firearms that caught my eye on those occasions, I did purchased two boxes of .22 ammo, grips, a bipod, gunsmithing tool, and a rail, all of which were overpriced. I did this because I care about small biz and I could ALWAYS use those products in the future. Let me reiterate. I bought things I DID NOT NEED, because CORY (not the two I'll speak of below) had been helpful and courteous and by default, I want my money to go to local, small businesses. I was looking at a Plain Jane 9mm 1911 from SDS imports selling for $430 somethin' ($100 over retail) and asked to have the "gunsmith" field strip the firearm so I could inspect further and was treated like a complete fool. In fact, it seemed they were confrontational. "Why? Its brand new!", the two spat, in a condescending tone. They continued with, "That's like trying to purchase a new car and having them strip down the engine." NO! Actually, it would be like asking them to open the hood and doors for inspection! Again, I only asked for him to field strip it! Just, WOW!!! Ever heard of a "blem" firearm, Northland Guns? What if I found blemishes or visual inadequate tolerances "under the hood" with the rails, bushing, guide rod, barrel, etc.? Ill tell you. I wouldn't buy it OR we'd possibly negotiate a more appropriate price. When given the opportunity, NORTHLAND GUNS, I'll bet money you inspect all products, before and after your purchases. Yet, you don't believe in customers inspecting before THEY buy. How else would a person determine the true quality of this pistol and its true dollar value? Because you said so? How would you know, NORTHLAND GUNS, that YOU didn't get scammed, by whomever YOU purchased the piece if you don't believe in "inspect before you buy"? Sure you more than likely bought it online, unseen. Wouldn't you too want to inspect it, at least when it came in? If it was from another local dealer would you not inspect prior to spending the money? One benefit of a local seller is being able to put your hands and eyes on the merch before buying. Am I wrong? I get it that you deal with a high number of strange questions as well as bad/unsafe firearm etiquette from potential customers. Seems to me the solution is to be more helpful, especially when the livelihood of your income is at stake with every single potential customer that walks in your door. No, I do not feel bad that you basically had to be begged to strip it and as you were FINALLY doing so, I walked out the door, never to return. You had already lost my business forever. I've had better customer service at the despicable giants like Bass Pro, Cabela's or Academy Sports etc. In an era where Ma-n- Pop businesses are nearly extinct at the hands of impersonal, economy crushing, corrupt Corporations as well as oblivious, convenience based consumers, It has become a goal of mine to HELP stop the extinction of small biz. As a a consequence, I GLADLY pay more for purchases from small biz. But some seem to not want the help. Baffling, huh!!! By the way, I've met Cory in the store and did not have this same experience. I don't know if these others were his family, joint owners or just employees, nonetheless, I hope for his sake they resolve such problems. I wanted to give no stars but the system won't let you post, otherwise. However, I'm happy to give that star to Cory! Good luck! I have to go now because I'm purchasing, a sight unseen, overpriced, out-of-the-box, brand NEW beachfront property in Arizona. NOT!
