Five year apprenticeship program. Promotes 8,000 hours of hands on work with 1,000 hours classroom training to become a Journeyman Wireman. The ETI is a joint venture of the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 11. Tuition and books are paid for by local union members and not charged to the apprentices. Apprenticeship allows new members of the IBEW to earn as you learn. You are indentured to work in Los Angeles County which has an enormous amount of commercial and industrial electrical work. Safety is a paramount value. Everyone attends Industry Awareness classes at the beginning of apprenticeship and will attend both OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 hour training at least twice within five years. Advanced journeyman classes for: cable splicing; instrumentation; and foremanship (to name a few) are also open to apprentices who decide to take the initiative.

Absolutely garbage as of late. A few decent instructors. Upper management needs to get things in order. Too cancel a class 5 minutes prior to start time is ridiculous. Could be working overtime right now, thanks ETI 👎

They're becoming more and more disorganized as years progress, and jump on any opportunity to dish out withholds to apprentices.

For current and future career seekers, the electrical training institute offers comprehensive class room learning, Hands on laboratory training, Tutoring Assistance, and some of the friendliest up front instructors you can find all around the training center. When it comes to choosing a career as an electrician, like I did, The electrical training institute is the better choice. The electrical training institute will provide you guidance in real time as you experience the electrical construction industry year to year for 5 years. These are some of the small details that make the difference that nobody talks about. I have had the opportunity to attend other schools with similar teachings and trainings. But they didn't have the small details that make the experience better, like the electrical training institute. Overall my experience with electrical training institute is better than what I expected; until I started to notice some of the staff members cutting corners in class rooms lectures and in training. And staff members agreeinng in new policies among eachother and making all students abide to them with knowledge of knowing that majority of the students have difficulties abiding to them. Then they threatened to discipline, which affects your pay raises. These are just some of the problems they create without giving students realistic and flexible options. So I give them 3 star. And for future electricians this is still a very good school, it just needs new changes in staff.

GED OR HIGH SCHOOL REQUIRED
Thats awesome bro
The first 3 years you work for two months and then go to class for a week, but collect unemployment for that week. You go to night school for the last two years. If you have your hours and classes passed on time you'll get a raise about every 7 months.
The frequency of the interviews depends on how many are needed to fill work. But around every couple months I think is the recent average. It took me 3 months after the panel interview to hear back almost 3 years ago
Yes this is normal. Took me about a year in 2016 to get in the inside Wireman apprenticeship
No, The journeyman wireman pay for the apprentice schooling
I know the Inside Wireman program requires you to have a diploma or GED and a at least a C in algebra. Not too sure about the other programs so I would call or check the website.
Cutting corners will never happen, this is a nation wide curriculum. Staff is always going to change and people cry too much about simple rules. Point is, if they don't want to be getting a free education in an awesome trade then they don't have to be there. I've never had a problem with staff but people that cry a lot seem to. In my honest opinion it's the best job I ever had and the benefits are amazing. You don't have to pay a dime till you finish and by that time you won't worry about the fraction of money they take out to put other people through the program.
Yes, you might be able to get into the advanced program as well.
It usually takes a couple weeks to a month, they'll send you a letter to bring in the required documents. Make sure your transcripts are SEALED/UNOPENED/OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS. The process may vary a little since COVID. It is a process so be patient and you can always call during business hours to ask.
Think of the long run you'll be making real $ after 5yrs u could be making 45 to 65 a hour time in half even better
No cost to apply.
I think local 11 wants you to have a valid driver's license but you can always apply at laett.com
Make sure you review the online study and practice test. Also, your 2 yrs of C or better Algebra or higher Math need to be documented when you apply. Do your best.
If that is álgebra 1 yes You dong hace to reapply
You have to take the course college algebra. If you apply for low voltage you can still apply though but you will need to pass a math test first
They sell a study guide to help prep for the test, I highly recommend getting that and using it to prepare. Be ready to wait 6 months or more for the whole process (test, then interview, then drug test, then boot camp). And they do a hair follicle test, so any drugs including weed will show up for at least 3 months. If you use cannabis, quit now or else you're wasting your time.
Go to website and click on classes. It shows the prices
Can i also see the results here in this web site my even if i was interviewed in san diego local 569?
We have an inside electricians program which is a zero cost- 5 year apprenticeship. We have a transportation electricians program which is a 4 year apprenticeship at zero cost as well. We also have a communication apprenticeship which is 3 years at zero cost. Our last program is a residential electricians apprenticeship which is also comes with zero cost and I am not completely sure but I believe it is a 4 year apprenticeship. Each program has different minimum requirements that must be met prior to applying at laett.com Best regards, Manny Solis
laett.com all the answers are in the website
My understanding is that everyone is welcome to come and take classes, but you'll need to pay a different rate and it doesn't mean you will have a place in the CW or apprenticeship. Best of luck. Keep studying.
There's a telephone number attached to this address
They let u take the test without your transcript. You just have to turn it in when avalible.
There are classes starting all the time. Depending on how the demand for labor is it could be every other week or every other month.
No fee. But there is a process. You must have a high school diploma or equivalent. And you must have two years of high school Algebra with a passing grade.
