Fluvanna County Landfill

The employees are very friendly and helpful. The hours that the center are open are absolutely ridiculous. Whoever heard of a landfill being closed on a Friday. Many people take Fridays off to begin large projects for the weekend. Also, having the , that is in desperate need of money, loses a lot of money because we have to go to other counties to deposit our trash. Whoever made those hours should reconsider or resign. It is frustrating to live here and have a part-time landfill. This shows no consideration of the citizens of Fluvanna or the revenue the county is losing. The landfill needs to be open Monday - Saturday.

They helped unload my trailer full of trash into dumpsters and then after I weighed out and payed. They have recycling containers to dump all recyclables for no extra charge which is a money saver and better for environment.

This used to be open until 7 pm on Thursday nights and luckily I just looked to see that it is now 4 pm.

There is very little signage to give directions as to where certain items go. There usually isn't a crowd, but going there for the first time I drove around for a bit because I didn't see where to put my particular trash. It would be nice if there were more signs to clear things up a bit.
