I’m writing this comment for those people who are looking for a rapid COVID-19 testing location. This location is legit and great! I personally was looking for a testing site and decided to come to IGeneX for testing. I did not regret driving down here from San Mateo. My appointment was at 8:30AM on 12/31. When I arrived at 8:19AM, there were cars lining up already. I was the fifth car. The staff started testing at 8:28AM. I was out of there by 8:34AM. Yes, 5 cars in 6 mins, very efficient. It took me 30 seconds to check my information and 30 seconds - 1 minute to take the test. The staff were extremely friendly. I only needed to get my result within 24 hours, so I waited. I received my result at 8:04AM on 1/1. Now I am ready to head back to Asia this weekend. I’m glad I didn’t need to line up for 2 hours or more like the experience I had in another location.

Edited this review after receiving a response from Igenex with my 24 hour test results. I was worried I wouldn't receive them because of the holiday weekend; my husband got his within 6 hours. The best way to get in touch is to send an e-mail to them - we received a very quick response; and, they re-sent my test results. I'm very pleased with the service!! All is well. It's worth spending the money for this test if you are traveling.

We used IGeneX for travel Covid testing for my daughter to return to China last week. This included a PCR-RT test, and an IgM test. Testing was drive through in their parking lot and quick. It was efficient and we were able to ask questions. We received the results the same day and they were approved by the consulate for her flight the next day. Testing is expensive but it was done right and we got results quickly so we were satisfied with the service. (Always make sure to confirm what you need - requirements seem to change frequently.)

The customer service is lacking! This is supposed to be the gold star for Lyme testing... So, of course this is the test I ordered. I had to track them down... constantly calling. Most of the time NO ONE would answer the phone and I left several messages to call me back. There was no way to communicate via email and they are west coast and I am East coast. After 3 weeks of trying to contact them I finally got a hold of the medical director Dr Shah (who by the way is the ONLY ONE supposedly who can make a decision or who a Dr can talk to). She did not know how to interpret the results for me. Eventually I got a call from someone in the actual lab who did a better job of interpreting the results and led me to order an add on test. After several weeks of waiting for the results of this test I once again called and was given the same story... "I need to talk to Dr Shah" and as of right now they do not see an add on order (even though I confirmed that day that the lab had my fax in their hand! Not a happy camper!!

Questions & Answers

Do you test for COVID using the Molecular: PCR, Antigen/AG test?

Mary Murphy | Aug 25, 2021
IGeneX Inc. | Oct 29, 2021

IGenex uses RT-PCR testing (which is a molecular test) to test for active infection of COVID-19. We do not use antigen tests, as they are less sensitive than RT-PCR tests. We use ImmunoBlots and IgXSpot methods to test for past infection and reaction to the vaccine. Please visit igenex.com to learn more about the different types of tests.

It is best to consult a doctor, especially when it comes to antibody tests. However, IGeneX does provide IgXSpot t-cell tests for early detection of Lyme and Bartonella. These tests can detect the mentioned diseases anywhere from a few days to a month after being bitten: https://igenex.com/test-methodologies/ The tests are #300 - Lyme IgXSpot and #350 - Bartonella IgXSpot on the Test Requisition Form: https://cdn.igenex.com/wp-content/uploads/Form_TEST_REQUISITION_Domestic.pdf
