I was apart of the advanced training program for culinary arts, at first it wasnt bad we had trips abd things to do to keep us busy, but the longer i stayed the more depressed i became the food was nasty, the staff in the cafeteria were dirty when they droped food i watched them pick it up and put it back in the pot with their bare hands and the kitchen was disgusting, thats why the advanced culinary students stopped giving them an inspection because everytime they did they failed and didnt listen on how to improve their score, so i stopped eating and i was basically starving myself until i self terminated, and i dropped around 50lbs in the time i was there( 1 month) the staff depending on the person were helpful and nice, if you showed them respect they would reciprocate it back to you, and now that i terminated i couldnt bring all of my belongings so i been trying to see if they could pack it up until i could come back and get it, or simply re-imberse them the shipping costs of my belongings but they will not return my calls and are being really disrepectful holding my belongings hostage. now im not saying that the advance culinary program is not good because it is they have chefs that work there that actually know what they are doing and complete masters of their craft, but i see no need in attending until they have better food in the cafeteria, and staff that can comunicate with each other instead of constantly not knowing what is going on half of the time, they're completely unorganized, and some of them are completely unprofessional.

Going to this school all the way from Brooklyn NY was a wonderful experience I will never forget. I took up Advance Culinary Arts and got to learn about different foods. The two things I would change is the food in the cafeteria, some days it was good but having chicken and rice almost everyday was not cool and unhealthy. Also the minors was super bad almost like they thought they still was in High school but other than that it was a good school.

If you're between the ages 16-24, and you feel like you're too illiterate for regular school! You can come here and re-learn your ABC"s. Everyone here is below their reading and math level , so expect to be treated special . Food is decent and the 100$ clothes vouchers are excellent . Only a few staff will actually act like they care and the nursing program is a joke😅

What a waste. The advanced training culinary program here is top notch make no mistake, but the snobby elitists who run it have one too many sticks up their butts. I spent one whole year working under the expert instruction of the C.E.C. instructor at Inland Empire Job Corp, had the support of the whole center's staff, was phase 5 (the highest behavior rating), and still got rejected, over 6 mo. old case notes (minor offences). Not every rule is explained or written in the handbook, but you aren't excused because you didn't know. One of which was a complete slanderous lie made up by a staff member who just didn't like me. The worst part is every other staff member knew what happened and chose not to preserve my name or reprimand the lier who tried to get my education terminated. Now I'm at a significant disadvantage in terms of experience, skill set, and finances (you actually get paid for work at TI), on top of being miles away from SF the cuisine capitol of the US. This is Job Corp not MIT, Berkeley, or Harvard, great students are supposed to make and over come mistakes at Job Corp, it should not be this hard to get in. Great job TI thanks a lot for setting my career back like 5 years.

Call the number above or go through they’re website to find out.
Or is the cell phone service there and what can u get in trouble for like what are the rules and can they take away your phone
No, the finance and wellness center is closed on weekends
Yes but u must have your own personal WiFi for online and they are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Apply at job corps.com
That is something you must contact them about. Idk how they are doing things now because of the pandemic.
This is the only job corps in the country that allows u off campus during the week of course with a curfew but yes u are allowed to go home on the weekend if you are so lucky to have one. Rules and regulations have changed back in 2017 with attendance and behavior.
You must do that on your own time with your own money. They’re is no barber but they’re may be kids that cut hair that you can meet.
Fantastic! The teachers do a great job and the trainees produce stuff delicious food and desserts.
Yeah it's open. Sometimes it takes awhile to get in. It took me about a month.
No, you have to have an orientation date to come into center
Its 25$ plus the tax they take off..And yes you can but you'd have to fill out a LTE form. Also can't work on Monday or Thursdays.
There is a anger management group that may help with your relationship issues. There are psychologists on center. But not a specific counselor for those issues. Some students attend off center support as well.
Yes, im visiting at this current time
The Treasure Island Job Corps has the best sights of all. Of course, it depends on what trade intrests you and which center has it.
One roommate and 2 quad mates. It's 2 to a room and 4 to a bathroom.
Being a student on campus as long as they sign out they can leave but if they are minors they have a 2 hour check in and need other papers as well to leave and students can bring in outside items but they will be check at the front desk and of course they can get money from family
Just winter break its not like regular school.
What course are you poking for
Call the main number, 0 for operator. Then ask to be forwarded to ADMISSIONS.
No. If the instructor plans an event it is normally gevernment personnel that support the program and they eat free. It is 100% illegal for them to sell publicly because they are gov. funded.
I belive it is two weeks or however long the orientation period for the center is.
Orientations on Wednesday if you want to enroll a student there at 9 a.m. I used to be a student there and works for the administrative office.
