The water from the spigots is NOT POTABLE!! You need to boil for 5 minutes prior to drinking. This was not posted and someone in our group who drank it got diarrhea. The campground host did NOT tell us this. We only found out after we went across the street to Jackson Lake (the day after we got there) where we saw a warning sign on the spigot. After we asked, the Mountain High campground host confirmed that the spigots come from the same source and water should be boiled. He claimed that people take down the warning signs. He could have verbally told us when he greeted us when we got there. This really needs to be addressed. It is a human health hazard. The campground was quiet and empty. There were only 3 other occupied sites while we were there for 4 days. The bathrooms were clean and stocked with flush toilets but no showers. Overall, a beautiful hidden gem with lots of close hiking and geocaching. Campfires were allowed while we were there July 31- Aug. 4. Need to fix the water problem or at least post on the reservation website that water is not potable.

Everything you want in a campground: spacious, flat, quiet, beautiful, peaceful, with very clean facilities. Most of the spots are first come first serve, but that wasn't a problem as I think I was the only person in a non-reservable spot, I felt like I had the place to myself (and on a Saturday, no less). Would definitely come back to this spot. Far superior to the other campgrounds in the immediate area.

Great campground that is well maintained. Running water at the sites, clean bathrooms with flushing toilets AND toilet paper. The camp managers obviously take pride in hosting a welcoming experience. Thank you for the comfortable night.

Questions & Answers

Is this campsite first come first serve? Is it hard to get a spot in July on a weekend?!

There are also several First-come-first-served campgrounds close by along the same road. When we drove by a couple weekends ago they were pretty vacant.

The posted rules say 2:00 pm, but in my experience; 9 or 10:00 am is a better option.👍

You can only camp in the campground. Across the street is Jackson Lake you cannot camp there. There is a picnic area and beach area where you can set up a blanket and/or chairs. Fisjing licebse required. That late is stocked. Water level very low.

Can you bring a small trailer?

You can bring small trailers but it it dry camping. I am sure some campsites might have bigger parking slots than others. Ask the camp host.
