I’m not saying who it was that left the keys to the takeout car locked in the put-in car and had to rely on the kindness of a Higher Pursuits van to give them a ride back, but they did it cheerfully and I wasn’t even a customer - just a stranded canoeist with a bad memory. The kind of folks I like to do business with.

If you are thinking about making a reservation with Higher Pursuits, DO IT!!!!! I don't leave reviews ever, but my experience was so amazing that I had to. First off, I was going to be a little late due to some personal issues, any other company would give your boat away, but they accommodated for me. The staff was friendly, organized, and so helpful. The river was absolutely gorgeous, the kayaks were in good shape, and the wildlife that is along the river is amazing. I will definitely be booking with them over and over again!!!!

We started at 10 a.m and finished by 2. The river is easy and calm. But water is some how cold.
Canoe rentals are $45 for the 5.5 mile cheeks bend route
As of right now we have not been offering guided trips. We hope to resume classes and guided trips in 2021 when we can return to more normal operations
At our current water level, the Duck River is very clear. If it has just rained then that stirs up silt in the water and will make the water look muddy. Because of the limestone in the river some area have a green hue to the water. Hope that answers your question. The Duck River is considered to be a very clean and healthy river.
Shuttle is $15 per kayak. That includes drop off and pick up.
