How do these doctors have patients? Every call into the appointment desk takes over 30 minutes, being on hold, answering service (requests for a call back never happen), booked with wrong doctor (discovered this on the UCLA website) or disconnected. Appointments are cancelled and you have to call back, again.... the hell of being on hold. My first appointment was cancelled 3 times. When I showed, oops, no appointment. I waited an hour to be seen. Now trying to book my follow-up (medication prescribed not working, bad side-effects). Received a voice mail that the follow-up has been cancelled. 45 minutes on hold. "You still have an appointment". So far, no encounter with this department has been efficient, positive, or one that gives confidence in UCLA's Neurology Department.

I wish so badly that I didn't have to put a star on here. I love my doctor but the staff is absolutely horrible!! Every time that I have to call to get more refills on my prescriptions, they take forever. I have called them multiple times within the past week because they have yet to send them. Every time this happens, without fail, they say "Well...it looks like it's been called in." And so I call my pharmacy or go over to it and day after day they have yet to get anything from them. And now because of them, I will not have enough meds to last me through the week and my 2 years of being seizure free will just go out the window. Thank you so much for ruining my chance a at life. You're horrible people that do not put others lives into consideration.

I have to say what a sorry disappointment UCLA Neurology was trying to get an appointment. We live out of state and had been referred by our neurologist to go to UCLA for specialized treatment that was not offered were we live. The Dr's office sent the referral as well as all the chart records. We contacted UCLA Neurology to make the appointment and after long hold times or phone calls being answered by the answering service and promising to have them call back UCLA said they did not receive the fax and would not book the appointment. Back to the Dr's office to request that it be faxed over again- Same thing, advising they never received the fax. This happened 6 times and records were faxed 6 times, one of those being myself personally, and all faxes had confirmations that they went. One of the phone conversations I even had with UCLA was requesting that the Dr. call and book the appointment but was told no they would not because records had not been received. UGH!!!! When you desperately are trying to get the specialized help you need for your child and you end up spending hours on the phone on hold and numerous hours getting records sent you pretty much just want to cry. No one should have to but up with this type of treatment, especially when you've done everything humanly possible. I hope that others have better luck- I finally gave up, called the neurology specialist at USC and got through on the first call, talked to friendly people and had an appointment made. Thank You USC, no this Mom can breath a little easier knowing that caring and helpful people will figure things out.
