Nice shop, love the confections, factory tour not open and a little political for a candy shop.

This place was so cool. They have tours at certain times of the year where they show you where the people make there magic. When they don't have tours they show a video of how everything is made. Wow, the samples taste amazing and very fresh. They taste completely different than buying them in a store. We will be coming back here again. Love all that they have there. Staff was really nice too.

Every since I met my husband who grew up in the Snohomish area, we would buy Aplets and Cotlets as gift souvenirs. We finally drove to Eastern Washington so we could visit the actual store. Wasn't too impressed with the three girls that stood behind the counter giggling, instead of assisting customers. There were about 7 of us in the store at the same time.My husband and I purchased about $90 worth of product and not one of the three employees could stop giggling long enough to say thank you,or have a nice day, or come back again. One thing I must point out is the new Orchard bars. Oh my wow! The most delicious bar I have ever eaten. Filled with nuts and seeds. We bought a box of the raspberry, strawberry walnut. Wished we would have purchased more of those instead of the Aplets and Cotlets. We did end up ordering more online. But they are less expensive at the store. The online price is raised and they charge for shipping too. The Aplets and Cotlets have changed the amount of nuts they add to the product. Mostly just a fruit gel dusted with powdered sugar now. Zoom in on the photo of my hand poised with an actual piece against the image on the box. They still taste amazing, but the walnuts were missed. Still deserves a 4 star rating. The product has a long history in that town. We were not able to tour the facility and we did not recieve free samples even though we asked questions about certain products, no offer to try the snack bars or orchard bars. Cashmere is worth a trip and the store is too.

Such yummy candy! I like being able to try a flavor before I buy it. Got some new flavors that way today. Friendly staff! Fun shop! If you're an Aplets and Cotlets fan, it's a fun stop. If you've never tried them before, you should stop by and try them.

We don't have the traditional rock candy... the kind made where sugar crystals are formed on sticks or strings in bright colors... but we do have small bags of candies that look like little rocks. There's Caramel Rocks Candy (caramel) and Wenatchee River Rocks Candy (chocolate). We have seen traditional sugar-crystal rock candy still being offered at trade shows and in catalogs and such... they're getting fancy with it and making it into sports team colors and adding different flavors. If you're local, there's candy shops in nearby Leavenworth that have a variety of candies (including ours!)... like Das Sweet Shoppe (https://dassweetshoppe.com).
As a food manufacturing facility, we follow strict procedures in accordance with CDC guidelines. This includes frequent sanitizing and cleaning, wearing masks plus frequent hand-washing, and barriers or social distancing between workstations. Please note that in accordance with state mandates, masks are required at all times for visitors to our Retail Store and Tour Center. For more information, we have a document on our website here: https://www.libertyorchards.com/covid19_message
The tour is available whenever our Country Store is open (the last tour is 30 minutes before closing). The factory may not be producing for all tours (the store hours and factory hours don't always coincide) but they still give tours of the equipment even when the factory isn't running, then you can watch a video to see it in operation.
Hello, Joan! Seattle has many shops which carry our candies. There are also some chains which carry our products... like Bartell Drug, Fred Meyer, Safeway, and (this time of year) Costco. If you're at the airport, they can be found at Made in Washington as well. We don't always know which stores carry which products, but those stores would be a good place to check!
Hello! I'm told that we have sold to Walgreen's, K-Mart, and Ross Stores this season... but we are not told which of their stores are getting them. Possibly some stores in Cincinnati if you have one nearby you can call? Sorry I can't be more specific on a location, but that's all that we know! :-)
If you purchased them locally from our Retail Store in Cashmere, they could probably help you out. If you're not local, then perhaps a local office supply store like Office Depot or a shipping place like a UPS Store or Fed-Ex Store? I'm not sure which 3-piece set you have, but if it's a flat-pack where the boxes are individually wrapped, sometimes it's easier to find a box if you separate the boxes and stack them up.
Right now (October) it's 8:30-5:00pm weekdays. Here's our full schedule information... VISITOR CENTER AND TOUR HOURS... January through March: Mon-Fri: 8:30am to 4:30pm. Sat-Sun: Closed. April through December: Mon-Fri: 8:30am-5:00pm. Sat-Sun: 10am-4pm. HOLIDAYS: Closed or reduced hours. Please call 1-800-231-3242 to confirm our holiday schedule. Production and tour hours do not always coincide, therefore the factory may not be producing for all tours. In the event the factory is not in operation, we show a tour video.
Tours run every 20 minutes on open days. If the factory is not running, the tour guides are still happy to take you through and show you the kitchen and packing room. There's a video running on a continuous loop which shows the factory in operation so you can see how everything happens even if they're not cooking or packing that day.
Oh good, I have been trying to find some for my sister, we really like them. our mom used to have all the time. Thanks for sharing.
Liberty Orchards began as an apple farm founded by Mark Balaban and Armen Tertsagian. When they grew more apples than they could sell, they used the excess fruit to create their own version of a candy called "locoum" which they had enjoyed as children. They called the confection "Aplets," and it quickly became a hit with the locals here in the Cashmere valley. As the candy business grew and grew, Liberty Orchards transitioned to a candy company full-time in 1920.
