I have lived in Canyon Lake for going on 2 years, most recently living in North Tustin. My wife and I purchased a home in the community in order to enjoy the amenities that are offered. Recently, my wife purchased a Vanderhall for me as a present. A Vanderhall is a 3-wheeled autocycle that looks very much like a classic roadster. It has a Chevrolet engine, leather seats, Brembo brakes, sound system, etc. The 2nd time I took the vehicle out I was stopped at the gate and told I had to park the vehicle in the motorcycle lot because it is not allowed to be driven inside the gates. I explained I was coming from the grocery store and had perishables with me as well as several grocery bags, and was not able to walk them the 3/4 of a mile from the lot to my house. As a result, I was fined $150. I now have a $50K vehicle that I can not drive to my house, is subject to the weather, and is mostly unusable due to the ridiculous rules of the community. Since we have moved in, I can heartily attest that the POA is the worst I have ever experienced, the security is rude and uncaring, the enforcement of rules is arbitrary (I engaged a firm to do a survey of the community and in total 181 residences were not maintained to POA stated standards), numerous dune buggies have been driven through the community (not allowed as considered off-road), signs are posted that exceed size guidelines, fireworks go off constantly, gas powered golf carts (with emission levels and decibels far exceeding my Vanderhall) roar down the street at all hours (far exceeding the 20 mph posted limit), etc. In summary, STAY AWAY. We moved here because we were under the incorrect impression it was a secure community (absolutely not), the POA was reasonable to deal with (absolutely not), the guards were polite and efficient (absolutely not), property were maintained (absolutely not), and rights were protected (arbitrary at best). UPDATE! ```**``New Information``**`` So, we have a neighbor who has 3 GIGANTIC pine trees in their yard that have invaded our air space ABOVE OUR PROPERTY and constantly dump debris, pine needles, bird poop and God know what else on our property. PER THE POA - THIS IS OUR PROBLEM AND THE POA WILL NOT GET INVOLVED! They claim its a "neighbor-to-neighbor" issue!! INSANITY!!

The security is horrible. Some days they're not even nice, rude. I go in there almost daily and they still ask for a license. So many people go without service because of this. I would definitely never live here.

I lived here for 25 years and have no plans of leaving. Having a lake, golf course, camp ground, lodge with pool & tennis courts along with many parks is something that’s hard to find outside the gate. Don’t forget you can drive a golf cart all over the place and across the street to the town center & shop. Beautiful place to live.

I love living here and the staff at the office hear has always been helpful !!!!! The key is if you treat people kindly and have patience most likely things always go smoother !!!! But FYI if you are with the office and reading this some security guards do get lazy and flag anyone through without checking !!!! But other than that I love everything about the lake and the staff .

Hi Rochelle, thanks for reaching out. You can fill out our Homeowner Information Request form on our website and someone will get back to you with the information that you need. Have a good day! https://www.canyonlakepoa.com/FormCenter/Corporate-12/Homeowner-Information-Request-Form-61
There is a special parking area for bikes outside of the gate. He would have to drive his car there and take the bike from there. No noise allowed inside
The permanent guest list was taken away and the ability of adding them up to a year at a time was put in. If you had someone on a permanent spot last year they are no longer on a list unless you went in yourself and added them back. You can always stop in at the POA and see who is on your list if you don't have a way to do it online.
Talk to him. Use your words.
October 14th - 7 p.m. at Lodge
