Great place to learn about business opportunities.

Was a little disappointed in the nonprofit resources they had available. There is access to the Foundation Directory which is nice, but you need to call ahead if you plan to use it. They give the impression their office hours are the times you can use the directory, but that doesn't seem to be the case. The public libraries with nonprofit resources - Pasadena in particular - are more accessible and have a lot more resources to work from.

Questions & Answers

With the residual suicides we have seen in the last couple of weeks re: Sandy Hook and Parkland, I hope that the foundation will use as much money as possible to assist the survivors in getting the mental health support that is clearly needed.

Hi William. Mental health is a very important topic. This is why VCCF partnered with Give An Hour, who has over 136 licensed therapists in the area available to provide support to victims of the Borderline shooting at no cost. In regards to the monetary support we are providing, we agree that financial support cannot begin to alleviate the pain of this tragedy. Our hope is that the funds will offer some basic aid and support during these difficult times of transition and recovery. These funds are intended to assist in covering some of the expenses incurred or likely to be incurred as a result of this tragedy. Thank you for continuing to support our community.

How much of contributions goes to actual victims verses is used by the vccf?

Hello Kherna! Thank you so much for asking. 100% of the funds that have been raised are being used to assist the families of the victims who were killed, the victims who were physically injured, and those present inside the Borderline Bar & Grill that tragic night. The Ventura County Community Foundation is not taking any administrative fees. If you have more questions please feel free to call our office at 805-988-0196. Or if you prefer you can always find the latest coverage and updates on our website at www.vccf.org.
