We decided to spend a day off in Los Angeles and came across this unique Italian American Museum close to Olvera Street. I'm glad that we went in met to the docents and were able to take photographs in there. I really enjoyed it I was very unpretentious Alpha love Enough history to get the idea of how the Italian Americans worked and lived and that certain time period. If you have the opportunity to go in there, it is free and know that you will need to climb a couple flights of stairs.

Small but well laid out and informative museum set in the old Italian Hall. A lot of information and some nice displays to be seem. Rick the volunteer on duty when I visited was extremely friendly knowledgeable and helpful. Plan visiting this with the other small museums in the El Pueblo de Los Angeles neighborhood and you have yourself a nice day out.

I loved attending this museum. So much Italian American history I didn't know about until I visited this museum. I encourage anyone thinking of going to visit. Take the time to research the history. I found the building interesting too, it was built in 1908. Rick was very friendly and informative. I plan to go back and bring my family.

The staff that work here was very professional and polite as they offered help and information on the pictures and artifacts. It’s a small museum that recently opened but it’s free and quite and it was a very interesting experience because there were so many new things I didn’t expect.

Now that the L. A. city Council changed Columbus Day to Indigenous People Day, what can we do?

Celebrate? Columbus encouraged the rape of young Indigenous girls among his other atrocities. Maybe we can celebrate Italian Americans who actually improved their communities and work to make the US a more inclusive and peaceful place for newcomers. A place where my Sicilian ancestors would have been welcomed instead of oppressed.
