We love this cave and pair of waterfalls! We usually try to bring any friends or family visiting to this to spend the day exploring. Getting the permit is super easy (required & free), I like that they have a slight limit on people going in daily so it's never over crowded.

Beautiful waterfall even with lower than usual water levels. Cave hike to waterfall was fun but need headlamp and hiking shoes for safest experience.

Exploring the cave was soo cool. Hiked for about 3 hours in the caves and some spots got really muddy.

This was one of my favorites camping spots when I was in high school years ago before it was a park. You can't camp their anymore since the change but I am so happy it is so well taken care of. The trial to the falls and the cave is so much easyer and the road is better taken care of. It's beautiful spot for a picnic or a easy walk with kids. Also a great first time caving experience. Their is even a water fall inside the cave about half a mile in go the cave. Have to have permit to cave FYI. Super easy to get online in caving session.

It's less than a quarter mile to the bottom of the falls. It's not much more to the top of the falls. You can spend hours inside the cave.
Yes, you probably would not be able to get out safely if you stayed much longer.
Please carry out dog poop from cave, as it's dark (obviously) thus easy to step in

Definitely depends on the rain fall. I was there this week and it wouldn't be deep enough we didn't go to the falls in/past the cave though.
All great answers. It fealt like an hour do the the constant large rocks under foot. But it was probably 35 minutes. I'm 47 and I was following more nimble 17 yearold. You can hear the water fall for a long way. Nice cave but have back up flashlight as mobility would be near impossible without seeing your feet
You need to check with the park office at Fall Creek Falls. They can let you know when it will be open for this season. It should be sometime in April or May.
Main entrance is easy yet some challenging areas. Take water, good lights and rope. Also, you need permit
