I've been shooting 3gun at Manatee for several years. The match organizers do a great job and put on a fun, challenging match. Range management is a different story. I've heard complaints for years, but only had one slightly negative experie before today. Today, the range management shut down our match due to lightning within 5mi. We were all disappointed, but accepted it. I asked one of the uniformed Range Safety Officers about their weather data and criteria. Billy was courteous, answered my questions patiently and professionally. Then another uniformed staff member chimed in with a sarcastic comment (he probably thought it was a joke) about life insurance policies to shoot in thunderstorms .After they happily took a full range fee for half a match, this guy had to rub salt in the wound with his stupid response to my question. As much as I like the 3gun organization and the matches they put on, I won't be coming back. I paid $35 to shoot four stages, not to be treated like that by range management.

Great range. Very clean, well laid out and run well. Lost one star dude to the angry old man RSO with some sort of god complex who spent more time shooting than watching the range and proceeded to go on rant that gas guns should not be allowed on 600 range and of up to him he would ban everyone. For a few moments I thought I would have to call 911 as he looked like he was having a heart attack. Everyone else was very friendly and helpful and after moving ranges away from Grandpa I know everything, my son and I had a great time

Place is amazing and very fun to shoot. From the lady at the counter greeting you all the way to the range officers were exceptional and knowledgeable and very helpful. We came back for another round of pistol challenge course and it did not disappoint. The range officers Geroge,Sydney,Luis, and Tony. Were fantastic and extremely knowledgeable in all shooting techniques and gave us pointers and never let us get discouraged when missing targets. I have an outdoor range 15 minutes from my house and I drive 1 1/2 hours to come to this place because of the top notch staff! Great place and already planning my next visit! Hats off to the staff and owner on a well put together range.

Great place, great staff! From the clubhouse staff to the RSOs on the line, everyone was fantastic. Larry, Jack, the two Jims, and the other RSOs we met were friendly, great at clearly relaying the range rules, and extremely helpful. Shout out to Larry and Jack for everything they did to zero my son's scope and get him set up with some blocks and extra tips. The grounds were well-kept and signage was clear. The clubhouse looked great and the men's bathroom was clean. 100%, it was a great day at the range, and I look forward to our next trip back to MGAC.

Thank you for the inquiry Tony. Yes we are a club but also open to the public. There is a qualification process of 5 consecutive shots in a 6" target at 300 yards, you will then be issued a card for that firearm and optic only to shoot at 600 yards. Please call ahead to verify there is no match taking place on the 600 before you come. office opens at 8 am and first shooting session is at 8:30 am. Please feel free to call if you have any other questions.
For membership it costs $250 to join, and then $200 annually to renew. This will bring your range fee to $7 for the day rather than the guest price of $27 when you come to use our range as well as give you other discounts on items in our stores such as ammunition and various events.
Due to personal circumstances I haven't been there in over year, but I used to fire reloaded ammo all the time and there was no restriction. Just to be on the safe side I suggest you call first.
