Great place to work out especially if you have a family. They have pools, racketball, a bunch of classes, ect. always something new to do and super nice staff. Always helpful. My favorite gym in Sarasota!!

Frank G Berlin Sr Branch YMCA at 1075 S Euclid Ave, Sarasota, FL 34237 Terrific place. Clean. Well run, friendly helpful staff with easy parking. Numerous classes, never crowded, great gym, pool, and set up for all age groups. Fun Pickleball. Large beautiful facility.

Beware...this is a lawyer driven business. I go there to train and if it is raining they close the indoor pool because of lightning outside. I ask what lightning and show them a realtime Weather channel map of lightning data for 24 hrs and it shows nothing. They say because of lightning and walk back to the A/C in the little office on their phones. The high dives that had long lines because thats why i take the family there are all gone. Pool at potter park is abandoned most of the time. Nothing to do there now. Instead of "Family Friendly" its Lawyer Friendly. So i cancelled my membership after 18 yrs and hear they are out of business a week later. Then i hear they have new ownership so i take a chance and sign up. The double to sign up fee was bad...then i print my receipt and get some 12 page lawyer contract talking about late fees and defaults cause full balances due and court fees with some outside payment company contractors and written notice of cancelations delivered personally with time period this and that with card charges blah blah blah...i was shocked! This is a stupid gym membership not some car purchase. So i went to the New Y immediately and started the 20 paperwork process to cancel. I informed the guy at the counter about why im leaving and he said he just works there and im not the only one. At 7pm on a Tuesday the Y used to be packed with people. Now...i bet there wasnt 10 people there. The atmosphere was like a morgue. This place is dead. Going to Crunch for 10 bucks a month and free classes that the Y used to have but charge 100 bucks for now...I will never go back

I am going to be honest and not exaggerate. There is been more unexpected closings for this branch in the recent month. I thought giving my email address out would help me to be notified when this occurs. Unfortunately this was not the case. Other than that the staff is very courteous and helpful. I sure do hope that communication of further closings is better communicated.
