I have been going to Dr. Dawkins for five years. I chose him for his Sports Medicine expertise. I am a 50something cyclist and gym rat. I have always found Dawkins to be a No nonsense guy who gives great care and advise. Another benefit is he offers a more direct line of care. I have carpal tunnel syndrome and surgery was not an option due to a busy few months. Dawkins gave me cortisone injections at the office. Other providers wanted to send me to surgeons (three week wait), who would want to send me for tests (six week wait), then back to surgeon (two week wait). That is eleven weeks of pain. Dawkins' injections wore off in a year and we agreed I should get surgery. He works with Scripps La Jolla, a one stop shop for care. The wait times were cut in half. I highly recommend Dr. Dawkins for his knowledge, care and professionalism.

We have been through a lot with Dr Dawkins over the years. It saddens me to see negative reviews because I feel he is earnest; which is hard to say for many primary care doctors. Dr Dawkins sincerely cares for his patients and listens very well. If he does not know how to advise us, he does his research and figures it out (bird mites and all). I feel that my whole family's care has benefited from his expertise.

Furthermore, he goes and above and beyond explaining the injury/illness and the options for treatment starting with the most conservative route first. His office is always quick to get me in and there's never a long waiting time.
