I was just thinking about this today and wanted to air my frustrations about the Encinitas Sherrif’s dept. I lived in Encinitas many years ago. These guys were the absolute worst. Have never lived in a safer place that was completely overly policed. I filed a report once because someone knocked over my motorcycle. An officer came to my house and was more interested in coming into my house forcefully to inspect some air plants I had on a window still 😂 The stupid jarhead thought they were drugs or something and proceeded to interrogate me about the plants completely forgetting to file a report about my motorcycle. I also remember the time they hand cuffed me and roughed me around for having an empty beer can by me that wasn’t mine on the beach on July 4th (I was over 21) also I don’t believe there is a law around empty beer cans being illegal. These officers are anti American through and through, on some weird military / police state role playing kick. Also they constantly drive way to fast without using sirens.

Weeks ago, I spoke with the Senior Patrol Volunteer managers at this North Coastal subdivision. This subdivision, like all the other senior volunteer teams in San Diego County, are truly amazing groups of senior people focused on simple, basic, critical tasks in the community to secure our quality of life. They are committed to following their chosen schedules each week and clearly love what they do. I learned all county sheriff volunteers activities have been temporary suspended due to (COVID). May each of the members in Coastal Senior Volunteer Patrol group remain healthy and strong during COVID. They make an enormous difference. I don't think we citizens know how much they do to improve our every day. San Diego County is physically large. Its critical that each of the sheriff , police and CHP subdivisions have committed, dedicated senior volunteers for that specific area. May more qualified, eager committed, and reliable active seniors seriously look into the truly awesome opportunity to volunteer for Senior Patrol throughout our county. People are different from each other. Thus, volunteering at these type of organizations may not be a good fit of what they want to commit to. But, when one learns the details to the program--one is deeply amazed and grateful for such an effective program and group of people within. At times, I share what I learn. It is inevitable I had to share my experience!

I am the only Black Person I see, when I am in the areas of Encinitas – Carlsbad. It is a beautiful area but the people have ugly ways. I was followed by a Carlsbad officer from the Chevron on carlsbad Village Dr to the El Camino Real. Then he made a u turn. A few days later I was pulled over and given a ticket for having 2plates on the back of my car. Until that point I had No Tickets. I went to the Carlsbad police department to get the ticket sign. I also wanted to meet the officers in Court; one officer writing the ticket the other officer stands at my passenger door with his hand on his gun. I am a sixty year old black women driving a 1982 Volvo. After watching people being executed for no reason I was in fear for my life. Willie Lynch rule never went away it is simply modified and more widely used across this country; in school as early as kindergarten this country has practiced amputation of the black man's spirit. I tried to get the ticket into court and ended up owing all most $400. You should be proud of yourselves.
