Our meal was wonderful. Wait staff very attentive and helpful. Everyone very pleased with their orders. Only one vegetarian entree that might disappoint vegetarians looking for something more indulgent but was perfect for me. Very light on oil and healthy. The brussel sprout appetizer was a bit decadent, but shockingly tasty. They were happy to accommodate a vegan.

Resting comfortably in one of South Florida’s endless strip malls is Cafe Maxx which has been serving up some of south Florida’s better meals in the area. The space has a more traditional feel and can feel slightly cramped if seated in the middle of the floor, I would recommend requesting a booth or side table when booking. The wait staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The menu itself is quite vast for a more fine dining experience, so it was only natural to try several dishes. This being our second visit, we did order the tuna sashimi pizza which blends a delicious balance of sweet , savory, crispy crunchy goodness that leaves me wanting the whole pie for myself. On the first visit, there was one let down and that was the rack of lamb, which came out a good bit after our second course. It was over cooked and rather flavorless, but the apologetic staff took care of it. For the main dish this evening we had the scallops over risotto, which while thoughtfully prepared and tasty, was not worth the $65 price tag for the three scallops. On to maybe the best part of the evening, the house special crème brûlée which was quite unlike any experience I’ve had with such a dish. Instead of a ramekin, the brûlée is served in a large edible shell and filled with the gooey filling which seemed to never end. Instead of the traditional gelatinous texture, it was smooth, creamy and hard to stop eating. Worth the splurge. Follow @eatwithjordy for more fun food ventures!

Food tasted great. However was lectured by a snotty waiter that we had been at the table for two and a half hours. (Really couldn’t believe he said what he said) Reminded me that yes, a typical American restaurant…scarf it down and get the hell out…I hope this old troll waiter never gets to travel to Europe and experience a relaxing dinner. Won’t go back.

Everything we had was delicious! The atmosphere is relaxing and staff accommodating. We had a brussel sprouts appetizer that was FANTASTIC! I loved the sweet chile sauce. We also had a sushi pizza as an appetizer. I don't typically care for sushi, but it was really tasty. For the main course, my cousin had ravioli and I had the scallops. She loved the ravioli and says she gets it every single time she dines there. The scallops and risotto was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be returning here again soon!

We were there New Year Eve and the place was packed. I did not feel comfortable with the table spacing. Waiters did wear masks but the owner was running around with some plastic face cover which seemed not adequate for preventing aerosol spread. Bar had every seat filled. I will not return until infection rates decline.
Cafe Maxx does not offer Early Bird Specials at this time.
Best restaurant in Pompano Beach for discriminating dinners falls in the expensive category but worth it
