I took my 6yo and 8yo daughters into Embark Skate Shop as they wanted to use the money they got for Christmas to buy skateboards. The decks they really wanted, I could only find online and only in adult sizes. I didn't want to get them the wrong sized boards, so I figured I'd go to a shop and get some professional input into this purchase. Also, during these times it is important to my family to shop local, so we drove out from Elkridge to shop here as we saw great reviews on products and customer service from Embark. The gentleman who helped us (sorry I didn't catch his name) was super friendly and helpful in finding boards that were the right size for my daughters. Since they have never skateboarded before, he even offered to tighten the wheels to assist in them learning to ride. The girls loved the selection of decks he had and both found ones they loved (I told them they needed to love it to buy it since it was a big purchase). The skateboards we got were comparable to what you'd find online, so the price was right and we were supporting a local business. Win-win situation! The girls even got an Embark Skate Shop sticker that they immediately asked me to put on their bedroom doors. Overall the customer service in the store, as well as the prices were great. We definitely recommend going here if you are in the market for skateboards or skateboard parts.
