I have nothing but good things to say about this Police Department . I cannot go into detail about what happened because of legalities, but the SRPD was as professional as it gets in handling the situation and making sure I was safe and my rights were protected. It's time we stop being so critical of these courageous folks from bad media coverage, etc. , and recongnize them for the job they do. Thank You M.Kaminski

One of our trucks were vandalized and they increased police presence in our area. We never seem give the Police positive support. I personally support them and am happy they keep us safe.

I drove to the San Rafael police department to speak with an officer about an extremely sensitive matter. Unfortunately, the individual who met with me was an Officer Jessica Perry. From the moment I introduced myself, Off. Perry was rude and off putting. Her only interest was in my ID, which she asked for before even inquiring about the purpose of my visit. When she did ask, she was looking away and writing down my driver license info and who knows what else. Her appalling lack of people skills and clear uninterest in my situation, made me feel that she was just "going through the motions," and in fact, that I was being interrogated. In fact, it was at thst point that I ended the "conversation" and left feeling that she could not be trusted. I was brought up to respect police officers; however, this is precisely the kind of interaction that breeds mistrust and contempt for the police.

I've never experienced more governmental injustice than in my experience with the San Rafael Police department. We drove for hours to visit this city so my daughter could do a first hand report on the mission and the history of the city, not knowing that our fully registered vehicle had the registration tag stolen from it. The voracious, money hungry, city guard dogs sure noticed though. Needless to say, we received a ticket and proceeded with the correction proving process over the following weeks. Sending in our first attempt to correct the citation by demonstrating our registration proved unacceptable, so we complied with the new directive and mailed in peace officer signed proof and payment yet again. At this point, I recognized that we were simply jumping through hoops to keep the governmental victimization to a $10 dollar minimum. Our proof was sent with ample time to travers the mail system and put this atrocity to an end. Until today hits, we receive another notice claiming it was not received on time and the fine has doubled. We now owe $175 for never even breaking any law and complying to the best of our ability. They claim we have no right to appeal and because the letter was not sent certified, (at yet another cost) we cannot prove it was sent in reasonable timing. I do not believe it arrived late. The mail system isn't that unreliable. This is thievery by the state. I could not be more disappointed at this kind of injustice. Cost of only being victimized by the thief: $20 at DMV. Cost of victimization by San Rafael Police, $176. Who's the more sickening crook?

Nothing in the news. If it were big, there would be at least a blurb in the news.
They were either going to or coming from a funeral or some kind of event that they were showing their Respect by coming from all over the state
