I suggest avoiding this organization. Despite my repeated requests to cancel membership and not be charged a renewal fee by the renewal date, EBRHA charged my credit card $249 to renew membership. I canceled because the fee is not worth the services provided: 1. I don't get access to all of the EBRHA lease forms (only a starter kit) even for the $249 fee and I can basically get the forms I need from Nolo and the City of Oakland at a low price or free. 2. I got bombarded by repetitive emails on EBRHA webinars/events (a couple of emails is sufficient per event). 3. I attended one EBRHA webinar and it was really for people who haven't researched the basics (things you can read in a Nolo book) rather than special insights. The key webinars are done by the City of Oakland and they're free. 4. The City's eviction moratorium and rental assistance issues have obviously been problematic for Oakland landlords but I haven't really seen useful info from EBRHA on this (i.e. how is EBRHA lobbying on this?, what can landlords do to lobby the City?, when is it estimated that the City will remove the moratorium given that basically all other COVID restrictions are being removed?).
