I love public infrastructure and services! The staff is friendly, there's always a lifeguard on duty, the bathroom is clean, the pool looks like we'll maintained and it feels safe. One things could be definitely better: warm or hot water in the showers. One thing would be cool to see: periodic water quality reports.

I don't get why the showers are still not available. And I wish they would be consistent in lane marking. I signed up for what used to be lane 1 so I could be by the step, but they switched 1 and 5.

Great 35 yard local pool originally built in 1929, with freshly (2019) relaid lane markings/surface & deck. The public schedule is built for regular lap swimmers. In summer (April-Oct) it also has a couple of public recreation hours on Saturday afternoon, which can get busy. The rest of the time it seems quiet but you'll occasionally see swim classes, or hear noisy splashing of school swim teams or even a pre-dawn invasion by the Temescal masters swim club if their regular pool is closed.

Nice swimming under the trees. Open all year, so you can get some polar bear action. Nice parking lot. Get a pass and save $ and time. Get the hours on the oakland recreation website..

The pool has been closed for some time for repairs. If you call the phone number it says it's scheduled to open early September, a month-and-a-half ago. Either their voice message is outdated and it is open or it's still closed.

Rec (Public) Family Swim is now discontinued until April when the spring weather is back. Adult lap swimming is what we offer year round.
Not likely. It's rarely open to the public and when you think it is, you'll go and find out they changed the schedule or website.
