Nice view of Oakland hill and San Francisco in the distance.

Built in 1960, this church was beautifully designed and constructed with lots of natural stone and cement and aggregate walkways within its landscaping. This is a pleasant spot even to remain outside and enjoy the view of the Oakland area and the SF Bay Area from a new vantage point. Inside the church (now designated as a cathedral), you immediately feel the sense of time, quietude and calmness, with wafts of incense and candles in the air. Sit down in a pew and be prepared to be not only spiritually and emotionally affected by the space within, but surprised at the massive congregation area, choir loft, and gilt painted panels. Surrounding All of this, is the soft but clear light inside the cathedral, created by numerous stained glass windows. And amongst the religious and artistic attributes of this space lives the the most important part ... the clergy, the admins and volunteers, the congregation mixed with visitors. Like a family, events are shared and enjoyed such as the annual Greek Fest, seminars on health and other useful teachings. The approachability of the staff and clergy, the members of the cingregation all seem to interact with unforced, human socializing, good for the soul ... Greeks like to talk. Good vibes here. The initial visits I experienced there as an adolescent and alter boy, or later as an adult father and husband, with a lover, and alone ... have always brought me back to a personal, clear appreciation of just being alive! Opah!

I came up here on a whim to see the church and was really blown away by how beautiful the church interior was. I didn't see anyone but it was a beautiful place to sit and reflect. The acoustics in this space were really incredible too.

I visited your parish church on route to my duty station in Korea. I came with my Godmother Maria Ladd. I was simply overwhelmed by the shear beauty of the interior of your edifice. I wish to extend my sincere congratulation and best wishes to your parish for continued GROWTH AND PROSPERITY!!!!!
