This is a wonderful place! Run by volunteers who sort and sift through tons of donated clothing, household items, art work, books and much more. The volunteers work hard but hours for donations can be difficult, if you are a donor. They fill up quickly so be prepared to donate another day if you can't get in. Don't blame the volunteers! Many people donate and many items are in excellent condition and of quality. You can shop too!

This store is now very run of the mill. Had been shopping here for 10+ years. Used to be a win -win situation/hit or miss; prices were always a little on the higher side - there is this myth that people who live in Walnut Creek are rich. ( 98% regular folks here, the 2% live in the hills and over by Danville/Alamo.) But still for the quality & brands, you sometimes got value. Used to have great housewares and vintage items. Now, you might as well as shop at Ross or TJMaxx. Even if you wanted to support a good cause, reduce carbon footprint, believed in recycling, etc. the prices you pay here may turn out to be higher than aforementioned stores. Mainly Macys, Kohls, Target type of clothes and merchandise - most, showing wear. It looks like they are allowing professional pickers to get first dibs, because what this place sells is currently like a low-end salvation army. They have consigned with a 'shabby chic' outfit, so that most furniture has been 'improved' and are no longer in original or period piece condition. The next stop for much of the clothes is to jobbers who will put on a barge to third world countries; as to the other housewares probably send off to junk yards. Well, this place had some good years; all things come to an end.

Good cause, clean well organized store, but over the years the prices have skyrocketed so high hat it's no longer fun to shop here. I way prefer Rescued Treasures right across the street in the Casper's lot which has 3x the space, better quality items and super reasonable prices. I don't even stop in at the hospice store anymore. The last 3 times I went I walked out empty handed and really turned off by the gouging they are doing in their pricing. Where a new pair of shoes would be $12 -$15 at RT it would be $40 -$50 here. Crazy. Just cause it's Walnut Creek doesn't mean every customer can afford to pay retail.

Parking is the biggest issue. I take my donations there and always look around, usually finding something. I have not ever noticed prices like the other reviews implied. Could they be from the competition? Not to mention East Bay Hospice is a great cause.

Sorry, I'm not so sure.
NO matresses, box springs, or bed pillows. Linens are fine if they are almost new condition
All 6 Hospice thrift shoppes will be closed on New Years day
