My service dog's license was processed nearly a month ago and I still have not received his tag. Whenever I call to see what the issue is I'm told to wait another week and if it doesn't show up by Friday to call back and they'll issue him a new one. Only to be told the same exact thing once a week goes by and still no tag.

Have you contacted Animal Regulation? That would be in the City Limits of Red Bluff, so should be reported to the City of Red Bluff Police Department when you see him next.
There are no free programs, but you can contact PETS for a voucher to reduce the cost: 530-527-8702
The voucher program is run by PETS. Please contact them at 530-527-8702 for more information.
I dont know the answer to that I've never surrounded an animal..
Hello, PETS, gives vouchers. Please call 527 8702 for details. Dogs are 45, cats are 10. Learn more at www.petstehama.org.
I have seen kindness and short tempers. I can only hope that the stressful job they have can sometimes get the better of them. All that barking would drive me up a tree. I try to give them the benifit of a little patience.
You can come in person, pay over the phone or mail in a license payment. Our hours are Monday through Saturday 1pm- 5pm
Animal Regulation is through the Tehama County Sheriffs Department. You can contact them at 530-529-7900 and request the dog be picked up
There is not an SPCA in Tehama County, we are a government run shelter. We do not pick up feral cats, as they are usually happiest and healthiest left in their home environment! We do recommend Trap- Neuter- Release, and there are vouchers available through PETS to assist in those programs.
You need to see a veterinarian to get a rabies vaccine for your pet. If you do not have a regular veterinarian, there is a mobile clinic that visits Tractor Supply in Red Bluff on Sunday afternoons. The details are on the Tractor Supply website.
Cats and kittens are not regulated in Tehama County, and are generally happiest and healthiest when left to their own devices! If you absolutely need them removed from the space, you can request to be placed on our surrender waiting list, and we will contact you when we have space to house them. We do charge a surrender fee in that instance. Otherwise, you can get the kittens fixed so they are not reproducing. PETS offers vouchers for spay/neuter, which you can obtain by calling (530) 527-8702
No, but you can try to ask the pet store if they might take them
Hi Suzann, you can drop them at the shelter during our office hours: 1pm-5pm! Thank you.
Please contact PETS for a voucher! 530-527-8702
We are not an SPCA, we are a County run animal shelter. However, we only euthanize for severe aggression or medical care beyond our means, or when recommended by our veterinarian. I hope that helps you!
The best way is to fill out the lost or found pet report on our website and send in a picture! https://www.co.tehama.ca.us/lost-found-pets/report-lost-or-found-animal
Give us a call! If it has been over a year since you have been in, we may recommend you go through the orientation again as a refresher.
Unfortunately we do not vaccinate stray animals for rabies. They are vaccinated for distemper/parvo and bordetella on arrival! Rabies vaccines must be performed at a veterinary clinic.
We treat all cats on intake, and stray dogs get a topical flea spray if fleas are noted when they arrive!
When I was just there last week I seen papers for volunteer work on the counter at the entrance. Not sure about paid work though.
If the dog is injured, it would be transported to an veterinary clinic. Otherwise, officers can access the kennels after hours to house the dog until we arrive in the morning!
Hi Natalie, We do accept surrenders by appointment! Give us a call and we will ask you some questions about the cat, then see if we can schedule you to bring him in or get you on the waiting list until a cage opens up. Thank you!
That would be a good questions for Animal Regulation! They are managed through the Sheriff's Department, and you can call the non emergency dispatch line to get your questions answered.
Unfortunately we do not have a veterinary clinic, so we cannot offer those services. You can contact a local vet, or the low cost spay & neuter clinics located at Haven Humane Society in Redding or Butte Humane Society in Chico.
At age 13 you can volunteer with a parent or guardian present. New volunteers are on hold at the moment, while we figure out how to transition our training online to facilitate social distancing!
Hi Crystal! Thanks for asking. Unfortunately we do charge to surrender your pet, but right now we do not have the room for another dog. We are currently utilizing a waiting list for people who need to surrender their pets. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list, please contact the Animal Care Center at 530-527-3439.
Unfortunately this is an all too common problem! Tehama County does not have the resources to regulate cats, and their are no ordinances in place restricting cats to stay on their owners property. With that many cats, it is likely that someone in your neighborhood is feeding the cats. We would recommend talking with that person to help coordinate trapping and fixing the feral cats, to eliminate reproducing and keep the males from spraying. In addition, if there are friendly cats that would make good pets for people, you can call us and request to be added to the cat waiting list. Good luck!
Hi Steve! We microchip dogs and cats for $15. You can call for an appointment if you would like!
No there are lost and found cards on the wall at the shelter
We do not have a local ASPCA, but we are the animal shelter for Tehama County.
Millcreek vet and antelope veterinary clinics
Contact them to see if they have a kennle available.
We recommend contacting a vet and your personal physician! We don’t have a vet on staff
Feel free to call us(530-527-3439) or come by, and we can send you an application to volunteer! Once we get that to you, we will set you up with a new volunteer orientation. Thank you!
We have one little female dog available for adoption right now! You can view 'Sheila' on petfinder.com, as well as the other dogs currently up for adoption. Thank you!
We don't have any rats right now! I am not sure we have had any before, we very rarely get small mammals. You might have better luck at Butte Humane in Chico!
Unfortunately, Tehama County does not offer deceased animal recovery services. The landfill does accept deceased animals for a small fee, otherwise nature will take its course.
Mike, thank you for your interest in donating! Unfortunately, our website is not very sophisticated, something we hope to change some day. We accept donations in person, by mail or over the phone. If you would like to make sure your donation is used for something specific, please call and discuss with our staff at 530-527-3439. Thank you!
We do our best to limit euthanasia whenever possible. There are instances where an animal may have an untreatable medical issue or a behavioral issue that makes the animal a danger to people or other animals. In those instances, we do euthanized animals. These decisions are challenging each and every time, and we do not make them lightly. However, our live release rate is around 90% of all animals, something we are very proud of! We do not euthanize animals because they have been in our care too long, as long as they are healthy and happy.
We do have rabbits on occasion! The population varies, but this past spring we had 6 rabbits available for adoption over a 3 month period.
We often have other animals up for adoption, most commonly rabbits or horses. If you have a particular interest in a certain species, feel free to contact us and let us know! Thank you.
I think she meant if her dog was lost and yall picked it up
not that im aware of
I am so sorry! We have a small staff, so when both lines are busy, your call will get rolled to the voicemail. We are open 8-12 & 1-5, please try calling again!
Unfortunately, we do not have our own clinic. If we are luckily enough to receive grant funding, we either offer vouchers to help with the cost of spay or neuters, or arrange to have a mobile spay/neuter come up to hold free clinics. We issue a press release before either program, so keep an eye on the newspaper!
Unfortunately we do not offer veterinary services at this time. There are three veterinary clinics in Red Bluff, as well as a weekly clinic at Tractor Supply on Sunday afternoon, all of which should be able to provide those services for you!

We do generally have gallon sized ziplocs of food for people who are in a bind. Our intent is to help people who require assistance for a few days, but we cannot provide food on a permanent basis.
I was very impressed with Tehema's shelter. It was very clean, staff very friendly and their prices are LOWER than anywhere else- they don't base fee on desirability of dog like most places, one flat fee. We adopted a German Shepherd mix and love her dearly. She was sick when picked up off the streets. The Vet they have there hand fed her and nursed her back to health. We got an amazing addition to our family. I would highly recommend Tehema Humane!
To get a how much would it be cause I need a dog under 50$
