CareOne in Lexington gave great care to my Mother in Law. She was very happy with both the nursing staff and the rehab care

Everything started off very well. My husband Cornelius Donovan had gout on his knee and was recovery nicely. Proud of his progress in PT. Then he started to get weak. Weaker every day. I asked the nursing staff who basically ignored me and was ignoring his deteriorating condition. We had a meeting to plan his release where I mentioned my concern. The next morning I get a call that he is “unresponsive” and taken to Lahey by ambulance. He was in stage 3 kidney failure due to extreme dehydration. He was hospitalized for a week then taken to Woburn Nursing and rehab. They put him back on IV fluids for a few days. He was so weak and barely able to stand. After 2 weeks of continuing to feel really sick, he started to show improvement. It is now 5 weeks in his second rehab and he is still not back to where he was before his kidneys got so bad. But his is mentally alert now and physically progressing really well. The fact that the staff at CareOne Lexington ignored his severely deteriorating condition until he was unresponsive is severe malpractice. Ignored my concerns as well. He was extremely sick and the doctors at Lahey said his kidneys will most likely never recover fully. I would suggest you look at other facilities!

One star is being too generous. Asking/telling a visiting family member to wash their loved one with little to no supplies is outrageous. Do they not have shower rooms??? When hearing your own or other patients call out for help repeatedly and you stick your out the door to see if their is a nurse or aide and you see them congregating at the nurses station having random non-work related conversations it is maddening. What the heck happens when the visiting person leaves? It's as if they don't know or care that complaints can be filed, backed up with video recordings, to several agencies and.watchdog groups.

My mom was at CareOne in Lexington for one week, and each day we were so impressed with her care. Everyone that interacted with my mom was caring, took their time, and was very knowledgable. She made huge strides while she was there, and left in such better condition than she arrived. We are so grateful for the care she received.
