We spent 3 days, 4 nights at Gone Fishing. We had a great time exploring the surrounding area. We found several great hiking trails. Gone Fishing Rv Resort was the perfect place to stay. It was very clean and well run. Al was great and full knowledge. The individual sites are very well arranged with plenty of space to stretch out. Thanks for everything Al.

Highly recommended! As a camping family we were short propane for an upcoming cold spell. I called and Al was ready when I arrived. He was incredibly courteous and refilled all of our tanks with a smile. The grounds were beautiful with a ton of trees. If we were from out of town and looking for a spot, I would absolutely stay there!

We have stayed at Gone Fishing RV Resort three times in the last three years. It's well located for access to Lake Texoma with a boat ramp in the Corps of Engineer Campground that is literally "next door." The sites are well shaded and generous with excellent utilities. Al has spent a lot of time upgrading the electrical and it was rock solid during our stay. He runs a tight ship with an automatic gate that is closed during the night. He lives in an apartment overlooking the campground and he knows if anyone has come or gone. He's also frequently on the grounds in his golf cart. Just the right balance of regulars and visitors. He has propane and ice on site and knows how to fill a propane tank properly. The price on propane is very competitive. You can't just show up. You must fill out a request from the website and he will contact you to confirm. If you are looking for a loud, wild weekend with 30 of your best friends this is not your place. However, if you are looking for a safe, quiet, enjoyable place to camp this is a place you can count on at any time of year. You will also be expected to use your own RV bathroom and shower. There are major services in nearby Whitesboro and well stocked convenience stores near by on US 377. Easy access from the highway. We will be back every time we are in the area.

For an older RV park, it is a great place to stay. Its actually a nice change from the typical concrete jungle RV parks. Nice and quiet. Very mature trees, a lot of grass, with gravel roads and spaces. Clean. Less than 1/2 a mile from the Cross Timbers Trail Head. Al and his wife have been the owners for about a year, and there is definitely pride in ownership. It is a smaller park, but I had no issues navigating the park with my 40' Class A towing a Jeep.

Yes they are, as long as they're on a leash.
